(It's worth noting that from time to time during the summer months pesky midges make an appearance, so it's worth packing your repellents.) As Border Forest is a quiet park, there's no shop or club on site, but a small supermarket is a short drive away. Liked The best dog exercise area of any campsite that I've ever seen. It must be 10 acres of fields with ponds, a river and loads of paths cut through the long grasses.The location was fantastic for walkers. It is on the Pennine way so there are lots of great walks immediately beside it.

Disliked The black water cassette sluice area was disgusting. It was green with slime and had not been cleaned for some time.It would only take a 10 minute clean up with a hose to drastically improve it.
There are no shops with the nearest being 9 miles away.

Will do something about Black water disposal area ,until you commented not something I checked.,only to see how full it is, costly job getting it emptied.

Camping pod (backpacker, no cars)

Liked Pleasant and quiet location

Disliked I hired a hobbit hut for one night. It was shabby and had not been cleaned. The on site kitchen consisted of a sink and microwave, so preparing food was not easy. It had not been properly cleaned for some time.

As you made no complaint at the time ,it impossible for us to check!
I am sorry you were unable to prepare a Cordon Bleu meal , in our campers kitchen . Again kitchen is cleaned but does depend on users keeping it as they find it.
As you only gave a 7 for location,one of the most beautiful spots in England

Kielder Forest is indeed mighty: this is the biggest human-made woodland in England and covers 250 acres. Roe deer roam here, many an archaeological feature and Site of Special Scientific Interest can be found, and the forest is also home to Kielder Castle, piles of walking and cycling trails, and Kielder Observatory (this is top stargazing territory too). Also in the forest, mosey along to the reservoir Kielder Water and Leaplish Waterside Park to hire fishing and pleasure boats, hide in the red squirrel hide, walk on water or try other activities like archery, crossbows, sea scooters or gymnastics. Within easy driving distance of the site are famed Northumberland and Scottish Borders attractions like the budget-friendly Jedforest farm and animal park with native and exotic species and Mary Queen of Scots' House, both at Jedburgh 25 minutes away; Alnwick Castle and Hadrian's Wall (about an hour, and both also rather mighty); 19th-century Cragside House (45 minutes' drive), and the first-class Holy Island of Lindisfarne off the Northumberland coast (an hour and a half). Clay pigeon shooting is also available locally.
