General

  • Quiet site on the north-east coast between Filey and Scarborough
  • A 15-minute walk from Cayton Bay beach via a traffic-free path
  • Farm shop and café next door; pub 10 minutes' walk away

The Paddock Campsite is a quiet, well-maintained site just outside the village of Lebberston, on the North Yorkshire coast between Filey and Scarborough (both of which are within a 10-minute drive).

This is an enviable spot where countryside meets coast: there are splendid rural views all around, and a traffic-free path that runs down to the sands of Cayton Bay beach. It’ll take you about 15 minutes to stroll down to the beach, a wide bay that welcomes dogs all year round and is popular with birdwatchers, fossil hunters and rockpoolers as well as those seeking coastal walks or beach days.

Also handily placed for guests at this site are a farm shop and café pretty much next door, and a pub about 10 minutes’ walk away. Barbecues and campfires are permitted on site if you fancy using some of that farm shop produce for alfresco cookery.

Firepits are available on site to help with outdoor food prep and keeping warm; other facilities on site include three hot showers, three toilets, a clean water tap and chemical waste disposal facilities.

Please note

No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

Location. Nice 2 hour walk to Filey and a quick 10 minute walk straight on to Cayton Bay.

    Disliked:

    Overall everything was poor.

The owners dog was let free to run around the site which stressed our dog.

The power cables ran across the site making it impossible to avoid when driving on and off.

We paid £12 for a fire pit that came with 8 wet logs and wet matches.

The unisex toilets were poorly lit and made from chipboard. It was very difficult to get changed in the shower cubical.

When we arrived on site it took a long time for us to be seen, we even called an noone answered.

The tent pitch was not level and made it difficult to sleep and cook.

Very loud road nearby (not the owners fault I appreciate)

Luckily i was just there the one night and on my own. if i was with my family for a weekend would have left after just one night.
