General

  • Quiet site on the north-east coast between Filey and Scarborough
  • A 15-minute walk from Cayton Bay beach via a traffic-free path
  • Farm shop and café next door; pub 10 minutes' walk away

The Paddock Campsite is a quiet, well-maintained site just outside the village of Lebberston, on the North Yorkshire coast between Filey and Scarborough (both of which are within a 10-minute drive).

This is an enviable spot where countryside meets coast: there are splendid rural views all around, and a traffic-free path that runs down to the sands of Cayton Bay beach. It’ll take you about 15 minutes to stroll down to the beach, a wide bay that welcomes dogs all year round and is popular with birdwatchers, fossil hunters and rockpoolers as well as those seeking coastal walks or beach days.

Also handily placed for guests at this site are a farm shop and café pretty much next door, and a pub about 10 minutes’ walk away. Barbecues and campfires are permitted on site if you fancy using some of that farm shop produce for alfresco cookery.

Firepits are available on site to help with outdoor food prep and keeping warm; other facilities on site include three hot showers, three toilets, a clean water tap and chemical waste disposal facilities.

Please note

No cars/motorcycles at the site. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

Location is great easy access to most places Bridlington and Scarborough about 10 or 15 drive Pickering and Malton very handy as well. Toilet block basic but spotless with plenty of cleaning products available. It was obvious the owner was having some building work done but it never impacted on our stay. Nice to have a farm shop and cafe next door also a garage in walking distance with a spar shop

We always seek out a quiet, rural and rustic site and The Paddock certainly ticks all the boxes. A really friendly host (Sorry I didn't catch your name) and everything you could need is on site. So why spend 4x the price and book on a boring club site, when this one is a real gem of a find - will definitely book again once lockdown (covid'19) is over.

This is a great little site but let down by the old caravan, old bed frames and piled up rubbish at side of house. If these things were tidied up it would greatly improve the curb appeal.

Hilly pitch supposed to be a hard standing was little more than a bit of gravel thrown on grass. Hidden concrete blocks in grass. Septic tank next to pitch, it was a building site so glad I did not need the facilities

Olly was pleasant on us arriving.

    Don’t go!!!!!!!!!!!

The 1 star is for the nice green grass. The “site” itself was very questionable.

The scrap caravan with windows hanging out to the side of the house.

The “Bell Tent” next to us looked as if it was going to blow away and the hot tub with was covered with a blue tarpaulin and surrounded by windbreaks that looked like they had been there years.

There was a pile of items stacked on view up the side of the house including children’s bikes, etc. and not just put there.

The bins were full although the site had clearly not been busy as the grass was excellent!!!

The toilet shower block is built out of very rough chip board. Although it has been sealed, surely can’t be cleaned to a high standard because of all the rough surfaces.

Not the campsites fault, but the road was very noisy........

The walk to the beach along the traffic free road felt like we were walking at the side of a motorway with the bypass road being alongside the road/walk that you use.

We paid for 4 nights but stayed 1 and had we have stayed the 4, it would have been overpriced even then!!!!!!!!

Really easy to find. It's exactly what it says on the tin. A simple paddock campsite with electric for caravans and trailer tents etc. 3 loos and 3 showers with social distancing and covid guidance adhered to. Clean and tidy. Lovely owners and very helpful and friendly.

    Disliked:

The toilets and showers are by no means fancy, but they don't purport to be. Spoke to the owner and she has plans to renovate and improve these facilities, but it isn't necessary to your trip. They are clean and accessible and do the job. Definitely seen much much worse at other sites.

The welcome was excellent with the owners son who quickly found our spot & hooked up our electricity - the showers were clean - you can have a fire pit, or bbq, great location close enough to walk to the beach & 5 minutes walk from the pub or 24hr spa shop - lots of stars in clear sky’s - the owner is improving things all the time and we will definitely go back !
