The Paddock Campsite

A aimé I brought my daughter and her friends for a pamper night, the cabin was lovely all warm and cosy, we loved the decor! very clean and the lady that runs it is ever so lovely, she was straight up to see us when we got there so we knew what to do with the hot tub etc.
The toilets were clean, showers were a nice temp.
We would 100% come back again and again.

A aimé The area of the site was lovely itself and the hot tub was enjoyed. However that was the end of the positive elements.

N'a pas aimé When we arrived the camping pod was infested with flies, not just one or two, but an infestation. They were on the floors, ceiling and all over the equipment. We were then offered an alternative when we went to enquire, but the alternative was a permanent tent. We paid £120 for one night of this pod and we couldn't even be inside of it.
We also couldn't stay in the permanent tent as we hadn't packed for the colder temperatures, which was a drastic change to the temperature in the pod. We actually left at 3am in the morning because neither accommodations were appropriate.
Additionally this was a special planned trip for a young person who has never had a camping pod/hot tub holiday before. This site was chosen for the location and the look of the pod and hot tub. This was an incredibly disappointment for the young person and myself as the carer who had planned this trip for them as a first experience.
Additionally, and perhaps most frustratingly, I emailed the proprietor of the pod with my feedback and have received no reply over a week later. I had to explain that the young person the trip was for has health needs, which I feel like the state of the accommodation could have potentially affected if we were to have stayed for the full night in either of the accommodations.
The phone number of the proprietor which is included on the booking email and website, when we called was actually not in use. This appears incredibly suspicious and not how to run a business within the vacation industry.

A aimé Cold filthy showers, expensive price. Party in the nearby hut until 5am . Not one single happy camper.

Réponse du gestionnaire : I'm so saddend to read your review.I'll address each point.You are right it was noisy on the one night you stayed with us.The guests were spoken to & were asked to leave.For the benefit of our readers the site is usually peaceful & relaxingWe have taken robust measures to prevent future noise disturbance. I'm so sorry this happended on your single night visit to us.
The showers were cleaned & fully stocked at lunchtime & checked again by myself early evening & last thing at night.The water in showers is warm but but not as hot as your showers at home .
We did however,notice unusally all hot taps had been left on in the showerblock in middle of the night & this had temporairly drained the system .Once again, we are sorry we didnt meet your expectations on this occasion.

A aimé Surprised my Wife with a short overnight stay on the way to Whitby.

This was a great little quiet spot. Site Ower communication, prep, and friendliness was 100%. Jacuzzi was a highlight. Plenty of wood to burn, pre heated on arrival. Firepit available if needed as well as indoor heating, fans, fridge and Microwave. Will definitely be back again.

N'a pas aimé Flies. The owner provided nets, bug spray, door netting, window netting, and we read this in previous reviews. We also brought our own zapper. Ps, this is not the owners fault, they have clearly done a lot of prevention here. Remeber, your on a farm, pumpkin patch in full swing, standing water. Also, bring your own tea/coffee mugs, kettle is provided, but there were only two glasses, and two plastic champagne glasses.

A aimé Stayed here for one night and absolutely loved it pods were clean and hot tub was lovely Rebecca the host was lovely and friendly and would definitely recommend we will definitely be back at some point

A aimé The pitch sizes was good, it was a back to basics site. Electric was great. Basic facilities which i did see getting cleaned more then once in the day. Friendly owner. Short walk to cayton bay beach.
Farm shop is reasonably priced and we had their pastires so nice.
Local pub is super dog friendly

N'a pas aimé It wasn't such a dislike as we had an amazing weekend but from other comments yes there is road noise just took a while to get used to on a night time. Flies wasnt as bad as reviews say this visit, but if your not used to them then yes they could be a problem we did have to use fly spray in our tent we just sprayed in a morning as we was going out. Our pitch was also on a slope so be aware you may need to alter items to make them flat not really alot the owner can do.

A aimé This is our second stay at The paddock this year, its in a perfect spot for acces to the beach which is only a 15-20min walk away or a very short drive. Warm showers are available in this quiet and secluded camp site. Rebecca the owner is very friendly and helpful. Thank you

N'a pas aimé Our first stay at the beginning of August, temperatures were very high, which seemed to have an effect on the amount of flies around. This time, this wasn't an issue for us.
