Cotswold Nights Away: Camping field

General

  • Pop-up meadow campsite on the edge of the Cotswolds in Worcestershire
  • A 10-minute drive to Broadway, and 20 minutes to Cotswold Farm Park
  • Walks accessed from the site; near pubs, shops and animal encounters

Fancy a walking holiday or perhaps exploring spectacular castles? Need to keep the kids entertained? Cotswold Nights Away has got all of this covered for you, from a wild camping spot on the edge of the Cotswolds near Evesham.

You can access footpaths direct from the site, and there are masses of walks along the Avon river and in the Vale of Evesham. The stately pile at Sudeley Castle and Gardens (20 minutes’ drive) is open for tours of 15th-century rooms and a costume museum, and if the kids behave while they’re there, why not treat them to a countryside trek with alpacas (35 minutes) or rare-breeds encounters at Cotswold Farm Park (20 minutes)?

Basic facilities on the open camping field include a well-maintained shower and loo block with a washing-up station, plus ice pack freezing and a communal fridge. Neighbouring the pitches is a small woodland available for dog walking and family games of hide and seek.

The local village of Ashton under Hill (10 minutes’ walk) has a pub and food-delivery service, and the mellow-stone Cotswolds town of Broadway (10 minutes’ drive) is packed with indie shops and delis for barbecue supplies. If you fancy eating out, there’s a destination restaurant there as well as plenty of traditional pubs to choose between.

Please note

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

Dogs are not allowed in the accommodation units.

Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.

At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Charlotte was lovely and approachable. The whole experience was very chilled which is what I want from a camp trip. Especially loved the den and the wooded area. We came as a group of adults and children, we barely saw the kids since there was so much for them to busy themselves with. We made full use of the den in the evenings with music, a disco ball and enjoying the stage. The facilities were great. I did use the mens toilet mainly because there were about 15 women and 2 men there that weekend so having unisex toilets would make more sense than having a specific gender since they are contained units anyway. I had a great time there and would definitely love to stay there again!!

Nothing was too much trouble for Charlotte. Payment was easy. Clean facilities, fridge and charging point. Free fire pits. Lovely touch of extra purchases in a stacker which included fire wood, Marshmallows and cookies. Had takeaway delivered from Stirr Ups, good food and delivery was super quick - also included cocktails! Amazing kids area!

The toilets and shower were immaculately clean and beautifully presented! The layout of the site was lovely and beautifully surrounded. The local village was accessible a short walk from the site. The proprietor was friendly and flexible.

    Disliked:

The constant noise from the nearby road was the biggest let down. Whilst the site is small the facilities are currently limited to 1 shower and 2 toilets male and female the proprietor told me they were in process of constructing more at busy times this might make use difficult!

We loved staying at Cotswold Nights Away. It has such a lovely feel for a camp site. The facilities are perfect, every little detail has been carefully thought out-I had never been to a site which offers a fridge and feezer which was great for storing our food. There was a free pot of freshly grown herbs for us if we needed them. The facilities were spotless and made the site feel really homely. The den in the woods has a sofa, boardgames and endless games for kids to play on- it has a real mini festival type of vibe in the tent. If I had children I would love to bring them here to build memories. There are lovely local walks, pubs etc - its got it all. This camp site is such a hidden gem!

Lovely campsite, came to meet up with parents in a separate tent love how you can choose where you would like to pitch up, lovely kids area with a den, free fire pit use - the owner has put boxes of stuff for the fire pit for £6.50 which I thought was great my son loved it, plenty of toys. Clean site, showers and toilets clean. Great for a quiet camping trip. Owner was really lovely when we arrived

What a little gem - I loved the simplisiticity of the site. We didn't want loads of modern facilities - but this site had two toilets and a shower room and a fridge and freezer and washing up facilities - just what we wanted - well more than we wanted but fabulous! Having the option to have a little campfire at night was lovely a real treat - can't do this at many sites.

    Disliked:

There was a festival on the first night reasonably local but it was fine - yes you could hear the music but it was 'manageable' I was pleased it was only the one night though.
