The friendliness and helpfulness of staff was second to none.
The cleanliness and tidiness of the site was striking.
The position of the site was excellent for walks and bike rides. The Shropshire Way passes through the site. Buses run every hour from the nearby village.
The local shop and pub are well within walking distance and were good.
The swimming pool was clean and quiet.
    The on-site restaurant was superb.
The pitches were level and easily accessed.

    Disliked:

The toilets and showers were kept in wonderful order but having only one shared key per couple to access either ladies or gents facilities was a bit inconvenient at times.

We had a warm welcome when we arrived, the pitch was very easy to access and set up on.
Great views of the Shropshire hills, surrounded by fields in a quiet location a few miles north of Shrewsbury, easy drive into town.
Toilet & shower block is very clean and a pleasure to use.
Swimming pool & steam room was fun to use with a great conversation with the receptionist.
A lovely well kept, relaxed site to take a break on with nice easy going folk.
We enjoyed ourselves & will be booking again.

    Thank you Mick & Gabi

The light in the washing up place and the showers were programmed too short therefore there was a need to continually keep pushing the buttons

Excellent facilities, clean and quiet. Love the music in the bathrooms! Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Easy to check in. Nothing not to like to be honest! Only a 15 minute walk to the village pub and the bus to Shrewsbury.

    Disliked:

Very slightly gutted that we didn't manage to get a table for Saturday night at the onsite restaurant, but this was our fault more than the sites as we only decided we wanted to eat there about 2pm on the Saturday! Obviously a testament to the food that so many off-site customers were booking to eat there.

The Fishing lakes were brilliant for short walks around, the dogs loved it. The people on a seasonal pitch were very friendly. My girlfriend loved the swimming pool which she had to herself. The showers were clean and kept hot water.

    Disliked:

Neither the restaurant or the café allowed dogs, as you can't leave them in a car or caravan we weren't able to visit these places. They have a specified cleaning time for the toilets/shower block, the cleaner came really early on the Sunday while I was showering and made me feel like I had to rush. They put us on a pitch right at the back of the lot when they had pitches with a lake view available which would have been nice. Our hard standing pitch wasn't very level. Minor niggles from an otherwise good stay. None of these points would put me off another stay.

The fact that it is child free. The tranquility of the site is beautiful. The shower block is beautiful and very clean. It has an indoor swimming pool. The pond is full of fish and the wildlife is lovely. There is a beautiful restaurant on site.
I would stay here again but only for a weekend.

    Disliked:

The swimming pool is closed for most of the time and when you do want to use it it cost's £3.00 each. We spent the weekend there and I wanted to go for a swim after Sunday lunch, it was closed from lunch time.
Our daughter and her partner wanted to come and visit for a few hours but we had to explain that if they came they would have to pay £5 each for the privilege, they refused to pay and did not visit.
The restaurant is only open from Fri night until Sun lunchtime, it is closed for the rest of the week.
Bank holidays are a minimum of four nights, (no good to people who have to work full time)
Whilst I appreciate that rules and procedures are there for a reason, I believe that they have lost the fact that people are visiting there for a break from rules & regulations and need to feel relaxed on a break. (We work full time) We are respectful people as were the other visitors and a few of them felt the same about all the extra charges above the pitch fees.

Local attractions

Beaconsfield Holiday Park is handily placed for topping attractions in Shrewsbury and Shropshire – and if you'd rather leave your wheels behind, Harlescott and Oxon park and ride is a mile and a half down the road.

A cinema, ten-pin bowling, golf course and driving range are all close by, along with the National Trust's Attingham Park and the remains and exhibits of Wroxeter Roman Vineyard, both within easy driving distance.

Splendidly old Shrewsbury and its medieval streets, 660 or so listed buildings, nine bridges and four shopping centres is also a quick trip away; ask the Beaconsfield team if any of the city's famed festivals are running when you're around.

About half an hour from Shrewsbury, heritage hunters can be steelily determined to have a good time at the Ironbridge Gorge Museums, the UNESCO World Heritage Site covering the history and people of Britain's Industrial Revolution.

Must see

  • Darby Houses (Ironbridge) (12.5 miles)
  • Blists Hill Victorian Town (12.8 miles)
