What customers say
This well-kept, quiet adults-only site gets props for roomy pitches, spotless facilities, and welcoming staff. The on-site restaurant, The Croft, is a hit for its food, and the fishing lake is a draw. Some guests found the showers dated and Wi-Fi spotty, with pool fees and slippery floors also mentioned. Nearby train noise was a concern.

Dodgy Showers with Slippery Floors. Claim waiting to happen!
16-amp FHU gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Quiet, hard standing, dedicated drain for each touring pitch
Disliked (1) VERY SLIPPERY FLOOR area between showers and toilets in Gents. I slipped and fell and twisted knee as a result and as a pensioner (like me), that can be catastrophic. I told the site and reported it on an accident form, I didn't even get a response of "how are you?". Spent 2 days having to stay in bed on painkillers, what a waste of a holiday. The floor is not fit for purpose in the central area (I know, I am a floor safety expert and would never achieve a 36 PTV test), the same floor is used when you leave the swimming pool and go to collect shoes, which is also getting wet. This site supposedly has an AA quality rating, the AA obviously doesn't understand floor safety and this floor has been fitted for a long time, so how many others have slipped? This site probably makes hundreds of thousands of pounds but cant spend a measly few hundred quid to provide a safe floor.
(2) Poor phone / wi-fi signal
(3) Water stand pipes so low to the ground, I had to use a water bottle to fill my water containers

Peaceful site. Easy access…
16-amp FHU gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Peaceful site. Easy access
Disliked Extremely rude and unhelpful staff.
Rules and regs regarding swimming pool and dogs.
We had to be recovered less than 24 hours of arrival. Thankfully our car was driveable as the recovery truck was not allowed on site. Apparently it was too heavy although the driver disagreed. We had to tow our caravan to the end of their approach drive (about third of a mile). We were not allowed to return to take up the 3 nights we'd paid for so I've lost 114 pounds. Asked the owner to call back but so far after 7days, guess what, no callback!
There was a strong smell of sewage on our pitch 11 which our neighbours told us, they knew about and had been there for a week.
Male visitors beware, you have to wear budgie smugglers if you want to use the pool. How antiquated is that!
If you take a dog, rules and regs state you must show an up to date vaccination certificate. Never come across this before and we've been caravanning for over 30 years, many with a dog.
Needless to say we won't be visiting again but if you do want a site near Shrewsbury, try Oxon Hall. Very nice site with park and ride nearby.

From the manager: Our drive way is restricted to 3.5 Tonne, therefore a sign signifies no commercial vehicles. - The driver wouldn't be aware of our insurance stipulations.
You were informed that we could not credit you for the lost nights and advised to take it up with your holiday insurance, to which you said 'we would return in a heart beat', interesting how you have changed your tune.
We do not request any particular swimwear for any swimmers - not sure where you have read that!
We do not require vaccination certificates for dogs - not sure where you have made that information from!
We would never accommodate these guests again, and reiterate our zero tolerance to threatening behaviour.

Liked The site is clean and well kept. The reception staff are friendly and helpful and the pitch we had was well appointed by the lake. It’s a nice quiet site with good facilities.
Disliked It’s a personal thing but I’m not a fan of the cheese music in the toilet block.

Nice but could be better
16-amp FHU gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Adults only. The food in The Croft was amazing. Nice welcome off the staff.
Disliked Toilets and showers need to have hot water not luke warm water. Was looking forward to using the swimming pool, but it wasn't accessible for someone with mobility issues. Something needs to be done to buffer the wind through the site, as we were unable to put our awning up.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Very pretty site with mainly clean facilities. It was peaceful except for the occasional train.
Disliked The swimming pool wasn’t as clean as it could have been and the steam room was cold. Using a key for the toilet and shower was a bit of a pain as I couldn’t use the toilet block whilst my husband was in the men’s shower block.
We didn’t use the restaurant as there wasn’t any vegetation options on the menu. Vegetarian meals were only available on request, which basically felt as though I would be offered a vegetarian meal take it or leave it. Whereas meat and fish eaters had a whole menu to choose from!
