What customers say
This site offers beautiful views and has excellent, brand-new shower and toilet facilities. Pitches are spacious, and staff are communicative. The site was undergoing renovations, which did not significantly impact stays, and ongoing improvements are evident. Some guests experienced delays in receiving refunds due to site closure for refurbishment, though the manager confirmed refunds have been issued. The site is advertised as quiet, with no bar or restaurant, and future vehicle access restrictions are planned.

Lovely place, Full of 'twitchers' because of natural beauty.
Electric grass pitch
Liked This is a recently updated site. There were a very few things that needed finishing hence the 9 stars but its been done extremely well. Shower and toilet block very modern. Service points (Electric and water). The non serviced field looks good too. Highly recommended!
Disliked The way you log on using an App to get electric was a little fiddly but it worked. I booked through Pitch-up and had no idea until i got there. It would be nice to know so you are prepared.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Facilities brand new and kept clean and tidy. The site was still undergoing the last of its renovations but didn’t impact the stay and can tell when it’s 100% done it’ll be a really good site. Pitches nice and spacious, site manager explained everything really well. Close to drive to pubs and the main shore areas of Rutland water and can access the nature trail to walk/cycle by the lake from the campsite

Lovely site overall, stunning views across Rutland water.
Electric grass pitch
Liked Beautiful views, site is well presented, pitches are mostly flat, very convenient to have water and EHU on each pitch. Liked being able to choose our own pitch on arrival. Very friendly staff.
There was a lot of work going on which detracted a little from the relaxing nature of the site but does indicate the site improvements will have a big impact when they are finished. Has great potential to be a lovely quiet, peaceful site and we would stay again but only outside of peak season.
Disliked A little concerned about the practicality of some of the new features. The shower blocks looked very sleek and stylish but were poorly lit - nowhere bright enough in the ladies to apply make up for example. There were no washbasin cubicles which, if the intention is to encourage tent campers, could be inconvenient. It may be that there are some planned and unfinished but I didn't see any. Only one shower block was open as we were there before the other was finished but five showers per block did not seem like anywhere near enough for the size of the site - especially in peak season. Shower cubicles could benefit from additional hooks and places to keep clothes and towels dry
