Lyndon Top is a well-kept touring park on the shores of Rutland Water, spread over a peaceful 112 acres and with stunning views out over the water. And while those views are indeed tiptop, there’s a fair amount more to see around the lake’s shores so it’s handy that you can set straight out from the site for walks or bike rides on the path that runs all the way around the edge (22 miles in total). On top of that, there’s plenty of choice for other outdoorsy activities, including fly fishing, birdwatching, golf, canoeing and windsurfing (along with boat cruises and lakeside dining if you’re after minimal activity). Think a barbecue at your pitch might be more your kind of thing? Top plan. Such things are allowed at Lyndon Top, and you can pick up whatever supplies you need in Oakham or Uppingham (both 10 minutes’ drive), or while out in Stamford (15 minutes). Back at base, it’s a peaceful setup that welcomes families, couples and solo campers (and dogs, if you’d like to bring them) to spacious pitches in a tree-lined field. It’s really not the place for a party of any sort, so the site doesn’t accept bookings from single-sex groups or other non-family groups.

喜欢 Really clean and tidy camp site. Well looked after. The shared shower and toilet facilities are possibly the best I’ve seen at a camp site.

喜欢 Amazing site.
1. It is a massive site with room for everyone's needs, we chose the field with views over Rutland Water and it was amazing to wake up to this and watch the sun set.
2. There has clearly been an investment recently, brand new facilities, that would be suited in a 5* hotel.
3. Wardens very welcoming and seen every day just checking and saying hello.
4. Plenty to do in the local area.
We will be returning.

不喜欢 Suggestions nothing to stop me returning.
1. More Hooks in the showers as currently only 1 small hook on the back of the doors.
2. Cold feed in the toilets for doing teeth, currently mixer taps with a fixed temperature.
3. Bins by the washing up facilities for food waste.

喜欢 Huge site, great brand new luxurious toilet block, great views over rutland water, friendly staff. There is even a field that you can let the dog loose in ( and its huge not just a small dog walk as in so many sites today).
Short walk to Lyndon Visitor centre and their bird hides - including Ospreys.
On the cycle route around Rutland water.

不喜欢 Needing an app for the electric hookup - The app itself was no issue and the fact taht you get 8KWh of electric a day included again was good - but the app itself made me top up my wallet with money that I can neither spend nor recover.
The walk from our pitch to the toilets and back registered as 1/3 mile on my fitbit (we did chose this pitch though to be fair).
The lack of cold water to clean your teeth in the toilet block (although this was solved by using the under cover washing up sinks).
Internet (4G) is hit and miss on this site but that is fine by us.
No on site WiFi (at the tim eof our visit August 2026)

Have paid alot more on other sites for less.
Spacious pitches, plenty of room for a den !

喜欢 On arrival everything looked 5 star, the buildings, the lovely reception by staff, the space and the top class amenities building. It would be wrong to call it a shower block, the finishing details are just so good, it’s definitely the best I’ve ever been to on a campsite. I liked the fact you were allowed to choose your own electric pitch, which were spacious and the size of the site is huge. Our grandchildren loved the space to ride their bikes. Will definitely book again.
