Roach Farm Park: Lakeside pitches

General

  • Fishing site on the outskirts of Skegness
  • Several well-stocked fishing lakes with quiet lakeside spots
  • Modern facilities block with toilets and hot showers

What a serene Skegness spot... Mega relaxing Roach Farm Park is close to the amusements and sands of Lincolnshire's busiest seaside resort, but you wouldn't know it from its peacefully pretty location, set in green countryside and with scenic fishing lakes right on site.

The several well-stocked lakes here are all available to guests for a small fee – and if you aren't angling after fishing, there are plenty of placid spots around the lakesides to settle down at with book, tablet or your very own thoughts. Site facilities are sorted at the modern facilities block with toilets and hot showers.

Skegness is a 10-minute drive away; if you'd rather leave the car behind, a bus stop is just outside the site.

This site is a member of Coastfields Leisure group.

Loved the camp site. Small, quiet, lakeside. The lady at reception was extremely helpful both when I phoned ahead with a couple of queries and on arrival and departure. Would definitely recommend

    Disliked:

A158 is very fast road so turning right from Skegness into the site was a bit hairy even though there is a turn right central lane!

Welcome was good and the lady that check use in was nice and polite I think that is always a good sign as my old my would say it doesn’t cost nothing to be polite. The pitch we had was good with water and grey waste and it was nice and level.

    Disliked:

The toilet block I think was out of the 60s with dark green tiles on the wall and floor and it was a bit out dated you had a key for the doors that you had to give £20 deposit that you got back when you checked out The toilet waste was a hole in the ground so someone was going to the toilet in the toilet block you will say it Floating past when you was empty your toilet cassette The fishing lake was ok but the swims are all over Grown and it was a bit hard casting out Without catching a tree the lake had a lot of Debris in the lake like broken tree branches

Local attractions

Most folk coming to these parts angle to get to Skegness first, the famed seaside town with sandy beach, pier, many amusements and evening entertainment in clubs, bars and the Embassy Theatre.

The Natureland Seal Santuary is in town too if you/the kids want to see some local nature; to see seals in the wild, the Donna Nook Natural Nature Reserve covers over six miles of salt marsh coastline between Grainthorpe Haven and Saltfleet.

Around Skegness are Ingoldmells, most visited for its theme park Fantasy Island and its big indoor market, open seven days a week; the beach huts and sands of Sutton on Sea are to the north, and there's more of the same, along with another seal sanctuary, at Mablethorpe.

Roach Farm Park is also a short drive from the traditional pubs and family-run shops of Lincolnshire town Burgh Le Marsh.
