Roach Farm Park: Fishing is available on site

General

  • Fishing site on the outskirts of Skegness
  • Several well-stocked fishing lakes with quiet lakeside spots
  • Modern facilities block with toilets and hot showers

What a serene Skegness spot... Mega relaxing Roach Farm Park is close to the amusements and sands of Lincolnshire's busiest seaside resort, but you wouldn't know it from its peacefully pretty location, set in green countryside and with scenic fishing lakes right on site.

The several well-stocked lakes here are all available to guests for a small fee – and if you aren't angling after fishing, there are plenty of placid spots around the lakesides to settle down at with book, tablet or your very own thoughts. Site facilities are sorted at the modern facilities block with toilets and hot showers.

Skegness is a 10-minute drive away; if you'd rather leave the car behind, a bus stop is just outside the site.

This site is a member of Coastfields Leisure group.

Loved it here apart from a very annoying rude elderly man.Pitch size good. Fishing was great. Cleanliness of washroom. Receptionist very welcoming. Clean, quiet friendly site.

    Disliked:

An elderly man(lives in a static caravan on site)riding round on his bicycle making unwanted rude remarks to people fishing and also riding round where tourers and motorhomes are.... staring into them and watching ppl fish!!!!
. He did this outside our neighbours caravan so I witnessed it myself personally. Also whilst my fiance was setting up our poles etc he rudely remarked "you want to watch your pole as you could cause an accident as cars go by here you know"....well thanks but my fiance is well aware how to 'mind the road directly behind us Thank you very Much he's been fishing over 50 years so is VERY experienced. The pole was NOT on the road at all!!!!!!!
Next thing...He comes by again 3 hours later,on his bicycle saying very rudely again "you shouldn't be fishing now it's dusk you know"😡this had been a dark rainy day anyway and the lights had only JUST come on(though he waited yo sed if he could catch anybody fishing after dusk in my opinion)dusk is not over in a minute and we do NOT take kindly to an interfering busy body doing his rounds in the way he does... as though he owns the place. We go on holiday to relax and enjoy it and will not be visiting here again to be spied on by him...unable to relax is not our kind of holiday. I would not recommend this to anyone I know because of this individual. Which is sad because the fishing is great here but as I'm the 5th or 6th person to mention this elderly man and coastfields doing nothing about it we shall stay away. We are a couple in our 50's and this man spoilt are days fishing with his unwanted comments and sarcasm...very rude man.
We had 3 lovely nights here but could only fish on Sunday due to rainy windy weather the other days and were looking forward to fishing only to have things dampened by this man. Otherwise would be 5 star rating.

Local attractions

Most folk coming to these parts angle to get to Skegness first, the famed seaside town with sandy beach, pier, many amusements and evening entertainment in clubs, bars and the Embassy Theatre.

The Natureland Seal Santuary is in town too if you/the kids want to see some local nature; to see seals in the wild, the Donna Nook Natural Nature Reserve covers over six miles of salt marsh coastline between Grainthorpe Haven and Saltfleet.

Around Skegness are Ingoldmells, most visited for its theme park Fantasy Island and its big indoor market, open seven days a week; the beach huts and sands of Sutton on Sea are to the north, and there's more of the same, along with another seal sanctuary, at Mablethorpe.

Roach Farm Park is also a short drive from the traditional pubs and family-run shops of Lincolnshire town Burgh Le Marsh.
