Roach Farm Park: Fishing is available on site

General

  • Fishing site on the outskirts of Skegness
  • Several well-stocked fishing lakes with quiet lakeside spots
  • Modern facilities block with toilets and hot showers

What a serene Skegness spot... Mega relaxing Roach Farm Park is close to the amusements and sands of Lincolnshire's busiest seaside resort, but you wouldn't know it from its peacefully pretty location, set in green countryside and with scenic fishing lakes right on site.

The several well-stocked lakes here are all available to guests for a small fee – and if you aren't angling after fishing, there are plenty of placid spots around the lakesides to settle down at with book, tablet or your very own thoughts. Site facilities are sorted at the modern facilities block with toilets and hot showers.

Skegness is a 10-minute drive away; if you'd rather leave the car behind, a bus stop is just outside the site.

This site is a member of Coastfields Leisure group.

    What a lovely little site.

    Nice serviced hard standing pitches.

Very peaceful apart from a low traffic noise from main road which you soon get used to.

Buses every hour 150m along road from site to both Skegness and Lincoln.

Excellent dog friendly cafe called Poppys just over the road serving home cooked food.

Nice dog walking area just off site for use by touring site guests.

    Disliked:

Visited before in November and ablution blocks were not cleaned during my three night stay. I did mention this to site staff on my day of departure but my comments obviously fell on deaf ears as once again they were not cleaned during my stay this time.

    No recycling facilities on site.

Small ablution blocks which will struggle to cope if the site is busy.

No staff on site Wednesday or Thursday so no complaints procedure for that period in place.

Will probably not visit again unless I get the requested reassurances from the site operators via email

The site was very peaceful, an easy 40 minute walk into Skegness, the fact each pitch has its own water and electric (i.e. not having to trek across a field for water) was great! The bathroom facilities were beautifully clean and well stocked with toilet paper and hand soap. We loved the security aspects of the site too, and the key box system for when we arrived late.
We found the site extremely good value for money and would definitely highly recommend.

Nice quiet site, lovely lakeside plots well spaced out and very reasonably priced for fully serviced pitches, secure with barrier entrance and exit,

    Will return

    Disliked:

There is a very serious problem with the toilet/shower block, the smell of sewerage is disgusting making it impossible to be used most of the time, the chemical toilet disposal point is situated at the side of the toilet block meaning everything runs into the same place, the smell of raw sewerage backs up the shower drains, all the touring plots were occupied and everyone said they couldn’t use either the toilet or showers due to this problem,
There is also a large static caravan/lodge that seems to be used by workers so can be a little noisy with people travelling back and forth going to work,

Local attractions

Most folk coming to these parts angle to get to Skegness first, the famed seaside town with sandy beach, pier, many amusements and evening entertainment in clubs, bars and the Embassy Theatre.

The Natureland Seal Santuary is in town too if you/the kids want to see some local nature; to see seals in the wild, the Donna Nook Natural Nature Reserve covers over six miles of salt marsh coastline between Grainthorpe Haven and Saltfleet.

Around Skegness are Ingoldmells, most visited for its theme park Fantasy Island and its big indoor market, open seven days a week; the beach huts and sands of Sutton on Sea are to the north, and there's more of the same, along with another seal sanctuary, at Mablethorpe.

Roach Farm Park is also a short drive from the traditional pubs and family-run shops of Lincolnshire town Burgh Le Marsh.
