Liked: Lovely camp site, owners are really helpful. Showers are free of charge, very clean.
My girls absolutely loved fishing the main pool and caught loads of carp. Will definitely be returning.
Thanks for a great stay.

Liked: Great sized fields for walking the dogs and plenty to do in the surrounding area. Pitch sizes are big so you have lots of space.

Liked: Lady on reception was lovely, she was the only one we saw. There was a lovely walk down the side of the site . The pitches were very spacious but on an incline so take your wedges, but not a problem, there are bricks about to help. The toilets were lovely and clean, there is a shop on site too. There's a small lake which was nice. It looks like they are working on doing the site up. All in all a nice little site, quiet and friendly.
Disliked: It would be a good idea to put some dog bins around as there are none. The showers were very small with nowhere to put your clothes without wetting them but lovely and clean so couldn't complain. Only other thing is maybe a post box for fobs as you had to walk back to the office after fobbing out, this held others up behind you. Would be nice if they had a food van come on site, icecream man came so that was a bonus.

From the manager: Thankyou for leaving a great review and reading that you would recommend us.
There are dog poo bins around the lake area, as mainly this is where people walk the dogs, we are added hooks and a bench to address the shower problem.
There is a black letter box next to the key pad to make your departure easier thanks

Liked: Very nice site, large pitch. Jo was excellent, she could not do enough for you. The main fishing pool was well stocked. Seating all around the pool areas.
Disliked: Slight steep on the pitches, remember to take blocks etc.

Liked: Lovely views good location to visit peak district
Disliked: Poorly maintained site which resembled a builders yard in parts. Toilets and general facilities a long walk from caravan. Pitches large but poorly maintained and on a big slope. Difficult to level van. Site states no outside noise after 9.30pm but no monitoring of this so very noisy until after midnight every night. Caravans and tents all mixed together and when tents pitched on grass they are very close to next caravan. Strange mix of permanent Caravans with fences and gardens which are obviously never moved.

From the manager: Thankyou Ann for leaving a review, it would have been nice if you had raised any issues with us but as you havent I will answer your dislikes on here.
1 We explained to yourself and other visitors that we are using the bricks to improve the site and to do this we have had to have things delivered
2 The longest walk to the toilets from any part of our site is 1 1/2 minutes at the most , where your pitch was, you could see the reception and facilities, so a 30 second walk
3 As explained our mower broke, just before the weekend and we had caravans on for two weeks, so this meant long grass, this is now being done
4 Please read about any site before you book as you would have seen we are on a slight slope and we say to bring levellers
5 I do regular walks after 9.30 and the only noise were people talking, no music was heard. Again you could have let us know if there was any issues
6 Caravans and tents mixed together were family groups, not from our siting on the pitches
7 The strange mix, as you put it, are seasonals, who have their caravans here permanently for holiday use
Great site with really helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommend

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked: Long hard standing pitches with grass to the side for awning and sitting out.
Staff are lovely and so helpful.
Fire pits on request for a small charge are brought with logs and firelighters to your pitch.
Loads of drinking water taps but need a long hose to fill water tanks.
No where to empty waste tanks so we use a waste Master to collect Greg water as there is a soak away to tip the water.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Electric grass tent pitch
Liked: We loved it here. A nice basic site with a little shop, showers, washing up area. We liked having a tap right by our pitch (all of them had a tap) but this wasn’t a necessity.
There was a nice walk around the fields for our dog and the site was kept safe with a barrier entrance. People who ran the site were lovely too.

Liked: Plenty of space on the pitches.
Wasn't too busy considering it was a dry and bright weekend.
Shower and toilet block were nice and modern.
Hot water was very hot!
Disliked: Shower cubicles were only big enough to shower in. Nowhere private to get changed outside of the cubicle.

Liked: Great location
Clean showers and toilets
Fantastic field to walk dogs
Nice little shop on site
Disliked: No one around on arrival or departure. Challenging when there is a security gate to go through. Telephoned but no answer. Luckily a guest onsite let us in.
Horrible sewerage smell around the site particularly on the first day
Pitches are a decent size but on a slope and very unkept. Grass could do with tidying up/mowing.
Looks like building work is going on as lots of building materials on the site
Wi-Fi nonexistent

From the manager: Thankyou Bridget for leaving a review, we came in a few minutes after you arrived and saw to your arrival promptly.
As the weather has been so sunny and lovely the brook can have a smell, this only lasts for a short time as we rectify it
Please read your booking, the site does not advertise WIFI over the site as it is only available around the reception area, but 4g and 5g are very good here
