What customers say
Friendly, clean, well-kept campsite with big pitches and helpful staff. Good for families and anglers, with fishing lakes, lots of dog walking space, and a handy shop. Most love the quiet vibe and clean facilities, though some mention sloping pitches and shower block upkeep. Great spot for Peak District exploration.

A very peaceful campsite.
Blue Lodge 2 bedroom cabin
Liked The blue lodge was perfect! The owner has thought of everything in order to ensure home from home comforts. The kitchen is very well equipped for all kinds of cooking. The bathroom is a great size and all towels are provided. The bedrooms include all linen, the main bedroom is large, well equipped and has a lovely view. There is a private outdoor seating area off the bedroom, which overlooks a large pond. It felt very relaxing to sit there reading a book with a glass of wine. The living area is really comfortable with TV & wifi.
The outdoor area has seating to enjoy the views of the lake and wildlife. There is plenty of space to walk your dog or just relax and fish on the lake. The site itself has a vibe of calm and peaceful.
The owner was lovely and very helpful the whole time we were there. There is a small shop on site selling all the basics. Purchasing firepits to use into the evening is available too! We didn’t purchase, only because rain had been forecast the majority of the evenings that we were there. Lovely option though.
I would highly recommend this campsite and we will definitely be returning.
Disliked Noting to dislike!

Nice and quiet site…
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Nice and quiet site
Disliked Very uneven pitches both ways! dog mess on pitch when we arrived, and WiFi doesn’t reach the pitches.
The site is also used as some kind of building years with HGV’s coming and going, piles of bricks and hardcore being delivered.

From the manager: I apologise that your pitch was not perfect but if you had let us know at any time, we could have sorted it out.
Wifi is not advertised on pitch up as it is only works around the reception block and the fishing ponds
There were a couple of lorries bringing some soil in as we are finishing some work on the bottom field, but there was no work so should not have interrupted your stay
Nice clean shower blocks, very quiet…

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Very clean toilets and shower block, lovely little shop, very friendly staff. Nice well stocked fishing lake and great access to dog walking field. All campers were very respectful of quiet times so peaceful at night.
Disliked Pitches quite close to one another. Luckily it wasn’t too full when we went.

This site has some really good things going for it. But not for us.
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Great facilities, kept lovely and clean.
Fishing pond on site, we don't fish but loved having a walk around it feeding the ducks. The carp also came up to the surface, our grandchildren thought it was amazing to see them.
Really liked the electric hookup and water taps on each pitch.
Liked the peaceful location between Belper and Ashbourne.
Disliked The site was mostly hardcore/ gravel, not much greenery.
I know the hot dry weather doesn't help but it was very dusty.
Pitches are very close together, if you are where we were at the top of the field. Our neighbour had a porch awning on their van which came to the edge of our pitch and when we put our porch awning up it came to our other neighbours boundary, and so on for the row of vans.
