Great facilities but awful smell!
Camping pod (twin)
Liked We had a good stay overall - the cabin was spacious and clean, beds were really comfortable. Loved being so close to the lake for fishing. Staff were friendly and welcoming as were the other campers.
Disliked There was a constant bad smell near the cabin - not sure if it was stagnant water or some septic system overflow? We would have liked to sit outside much more but couldn’t stand the stench! It did put a dampener on an otherwise lovely stay.

Liked - The pods were near to the fishing lake. This had a beautiful view.
- They were plenty people fishing who were always pretty quiet.
- That the pods had electric, a kettle, microwave and crockery/cutlery so I was able to make a drink.
- A running cold water tap near the pods.
Disliked - There was no running water in the pod which would have been ideal, even just a small sink to be able to have a wash in the morning etc.
- There was a small outbuilding next to the pods but, this was nailed shut so out of use. This appeared to have a sink, small cooking facilities. Unsure why.
- The cold water running tap was around the side of the locked/nailed shut outbuilding. This was straight onto muddy ground.
- There was only three toilets and two showers for the whole campsite.
- No shelf/ability to place wash items in the shower room or near to the sinks. This would have been ideal, and several other campers pointed this out to me too. Somewhere to be able to place your wash bag when you’re washing your face and brushing your teeth. I had to place this on the floor which isn’t hygienic 😔
- The faux grass outside the pods was very worn and dated. The wooden flooring just outside the first pod ‘duck’, with the faux grass covering appeared rotten underfoot and was uneven. Possibly a safety issue if this was to give way.

Liked Great campsite. The staff are amazingly friendly and nothing too much trouble. The shepherds hut was comfy and had everything you need for a comfy stay. The shower was warm and the facilities kept clean. The location was beautiful with a lake, buzzards flying around, ducks and goose! Would stay again and recommend for camping.

Disliked The campsite is undergoing some upgrades at the moment so visitors should be mindful of that. The showers are quite tight and could use a few more hangers or clothes storage outside the shower otherwise everything gets wet.

Liked Warm and friendly welcome. Everything was clean and in working order. Very quiet and peaceful site. Showers were lovely and hot.
Disliked Small shower cubicle so no dry space for getting dressed
It is on a slope so longer vehicles will definitely need ramps. We got away with it in a VW T4 by parking in the right spot.
