Liked Great location, facilities clean and warm, quite. Free washing machine and liked PAYG electric hook up.
Disliked Hardstanding pitches and roads need some TLC (potholes and mud coming through hardstanding). ELSAN point needs a bit of an upgrade.

Liked If you enjoy chaos and confusion this is the place for you!
Disliked On arrival we where met by a site warden with dogs lurching and barking at me, the first impression wasnt great. Part of our pitch was occluded by a commercial vehicle from a tented camp. Due to the closeness, we where kept awake by music and normal chatting in neighbouring tents. In terms of health and safety there was no formal pitch areas so the site was a fire risk, exasperated by open fires around the site. The one way system was totally ignored with no speed limits. It was also hard to walk our dog with the amount of dogs off lead. In terms of facilities, in all my years these where the worst experienced, for example grey waste points sharing fresh water points. The dish washing area had no hot water, the Elsan point was makeshift and the toilets and showers where disgusting.
It's really sad because this site has so much potential.
Consider a manager on site
Consider separating caravans and tents (they have different etiquettes)
Get some advice from an established site.

Liked We have stayed before and really enjoyed the site. You cannot touch the views. Great reception, no club rules and very relaxed. The pitches are well kept with good space.
Disliked The toilets are good, not the cleanest we have enjoyed. The price has risen quite considerably for nothing obviously other than the onsite farm shop has gone. The owner shared his political views quite strongly, this upset my wife and spoiled the experience, so customer service needs some work.

From the manager: Thank you for your review and rating and we're pleased to read that you liked the surroundings and location. We're disappointed to learn that you disliked the facilities because they are out dated and cold as we always have fantastic reviews about our shower blocks. However, during your stay another guest came to tell us that the heating was off so we were able to investigate and remedy immediately. We apologise that you found the room to be cold but would urge any guest who has a dislike/concern to let us know whilst they are on site so that we have a chance to put things right. We hope to welcome you back in the future but until then...Happy Touring :-)

Liked The location and lake walk overlooking Castle Howard, idyllic views, friendly reception.
Disliked Castle Howard should really be move vigilant to the COVID-19 pandemic. We stayed on the site arriving on Thursday evening. By Friday the site was overcrowded with
caravans and tents. There was no consideration for social distancing with circa 200 users sharing a small toilet block and two amenity sinks. Despite the beautiful idyllic surroundings I was amazed at the amount of litter around the site before it filled up.
We had a camper van park up next to out pitch and take our awning area, leaving nowhere to social distance.
