  • Peaceful pitches with stunning views of Capability Brown landscapes
  • Hull, Beverley and Bridlington within a 40-minute drive for days out
  • Near to scenic lakes and parkland; well-run bar and playground on site
If there’s one name that encapsulates stunning English landscape gardening, it's that of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown – the 18th-century landscape architect was such a genius that his name still tops any list of great garden designers to this day. At Burton Constable Holiday Park, guests are surrounded by Capability Brown's 18th-century landscapes. Just 20 minutes' drive away from Hull, this historic site was founded in 1968 by J.R Chichester-Constable and has excellent views all while being based within the Burton Constable historic estate. Families, couples, and dogs are all welcome, with scenic walks on site and a 24-hour helpline provided for guests to contact the owners. The facilities include a playground, modern showers and a well-run bar. There are also a couple of pubs a short walk away in the village.

What customers say

This is a beautiful, tranquil and well-maintained site with excellent, modern and very clean facilities including showers and toilets. Staff are consistently praised for being friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location offers lovely walks and is close to local attractions. Some guests noted issues with uneven pitches, Wi-Fi and occasional problems with geese or weeds in the fishing lake, but manager replies indicate these are being addressed. Many visitors express a desire to return.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Scenery was awsome pub cafe/shop lovely sell all sorts food was good and great prices toilets clean and showers nice nice too, very close to seasides for a day out spoilt for choice we did withernsea and Hornsea which at Hornsea very cheap deals for kids fish and chips drink and ice cream £5, the deep for kids is close by too, they had workers floating about at all times and polite staff outside pot wash area was clean there wasn’t no rubbish on site at all, partner enjoyed fishing in the lake we also enjoyed visiting the castle which for my girls was great history as they watched about it on Google

Disliked Geese poo all over the kids park the site is beautiful but one thing the park should be fenced and gated off so it’s clean for kids as was covered in poo. Also we was on gravel pitch with was on a slant the grass ones are more level we was on pitch 28 and the gravel ones behind us was more flat, after leveling wasn’t bad but for a beautiful site tiny maintenance can stretch the place to be immaculate no faults

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The lake the park is set on. Facilities were modern and clean although there was only one within reasonable walking distance from our pitch. Lots of water points but not on the pitch.

Disliked Very sloping pitch (front to back and left to right), constant garbage muzak playing in the bar area, a very small pitch for a very high price. It's primarily a holiday home / caravan park so set your expectations accordingly.

Local attractions

Naturally your first stop will have to be Burton Constable Hall, a short walk away across the parkland. You might like to take a tour of the house, or explore the stunning gardens a bit more, or perhaps follow one of the trails (the wildlife sculpture trail is a particular favourite). There are also various play areas for the kids, and an event programme that runs through high season. Next stop may well be Hull (20 minutes’ drive), where the top spots include The Deep aquarium, the maritime museum and the Streetlife Museum of Transport, where you can see all sorts of old vehicles including cars, trams and trains – and all for free… If you fancy more urban time, plan days out in Beverley (half an hour) or York (an hour and 15 minutes). Or maybe it’s time to head to the sea? Bridlington (40 minutes) is the place to go for a beach day, while Spurn Point (half an hour) is a wilder area of dunes and bird-spotting.
