  • Peaceful family park surrounded by lochs, glens, mountains and forests
  • On the edge of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park
  • Oak and bluebell wood, adventure playground and shop
What a Stirling stunner. Covering a whopping 40 acres of landscaped grounds, Trossachs Holiday Park is a peaceful family site on the edge of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, surrounded by woodlands, mountains, lochs and glens. Outdoor activities are all around here; it's under half an hour's drive to castles, whisky tours and loch boat trips, and the nightlife and restaurants of Glasgow are under an hour away: truly, you could lodge yourself at Trossachs for months. Former guests have lauded the friendly welcome, stunning location and spotless and plentiful facilities at Trossachs as well as its proximity to outdoor pastimes: walking, cycling, mountain biking, birdwatching, nature photography, fishing and golf are all in the region. Even closer to home, an oak and bluebell wood is within the grounds of the site for woodland walks, nature trails and gentle bike rides. Trossachs is an award-winning park, with an environment carefully managed and maintained as a scenic setting and one friendly to local wildlife. There's an adventure playground for your own mini adventurers, and heaps of space all around for play and general letting off steam. A wifi café makes a handy indoor retreat for less clement days. The immaculate amenities include two family shower suites; a bathroom block with toilets, washbasins and hot showers; a washing-up area and a launderette. Dogs are made most welcome here, and there are plenty of dog-friendly walks around the local area.

What customers say

Visitors praise the campsite's peaceful atmosphere, excellent cleanliness of facilities, and friendly staff. The location is highlighted as ideal for exploration with a car. Glamping pods and cabins are described as cosy and well-equipped, with some noting minor issues like the mattress comfort or occasional unpleasant smells from drainage. Some touring pitches were found to be less well-maintained or sloped. Despite a few drawbacks, many guests express a desire to return.

Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring pitch (maximum 6 metres)

Liked Spacious pitch, very clean shower/toilets. Tranquil location. Friendly, approachable staff.

Disliked The tv aerial point on the pitch didn't work, when we asked they said they are not connected up, (so we would have never got it to work).
Mens shower lights need to be set to stay on for longer as they go off really quickly and you have to come out of the cubicle to make it come back on, which is not ideal mid shower.

Hare camping pod

Liked I have various stays here for several years. Always using the Glamping pods. I didn't this summer as prices have risen. Although stayed this October for my birthday and bring back my chocolate lab to one of his favourite places. They have moved the pods into the Touring park of the site. The pods themselves are comfortable. They have also upgraded the heaters in the pods, so winter months it's lovely and cosy. Also a microwave/Fridges and kettle are provided. Just be careful using to many electrical items at once. As draw to many amps.

We always get a very warm welcome and they make a fuss of my dog which he loves. So no real complaints. Just constructive feedback.

Disliked The Touring site looks a mess, Caravans and camper vans appear just dumped. It needs to be landscaped a bit more. It looked promising when they first opened the Touring area. Sadly it looks neglected. No real attention to detail. There is a kids play area which is good. The tap outside my pod wasn't working, so had to use others attached to other pitches. The toilet block is too far away the pod I stayed in. So you need to be good at crossing your legs or running fast when you need to go.

The toilet block is adequate and as always kept clean. The loss of the family room that was in the previous toilet block is really disappointing. My only gripe was the lights are triggered by movement sensors. So sometimes I found myself in the shower in the pitch black. As the lights didn't stay on long enough.

Don't get me wrong it is a nice site with good facilities, the domestic team are very good at keeping things clean. Just attention to detail by grounds/maintenance team could be better. Especially the touring pitches.

The WiFi signal is very poor in the bottom right of the Touring park. My phone couldn't get a signal via WiFi or mobile networks. Luckily my laptop has a decent WiFi card in it. So I was able to setup my own network up using the laptop as a router/repeater. Just if you have only a phone, good luck. As they really need to put a WiFi repeater/booster in the middle of the touring pitches

Fawn camping pod (no pets)

Liked Location to get out and explore was good if have a car.
Toilet facilities and showers were exceptionally clean

Disliked Wasn’t place in the pod I selected at booking, discussed briefly the pod I booked on arrival however it was occupied by others. It was selected for the hard concrete standing for a motorcycle. Instead was placed in a different pod with gravel parking which is always a risk on a motorcycle.

Local attractions

A bluebell wood, nature trails and stunning scenery are right on site for leisurely days, and you can mountain bike over Duke's Pass or go fishing, bouldering and horse riding at Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park less than half a mile away. More fishing (for salmon, sea trout, brown and rainbow trout, pike, perch, roach, chub and dace) is at Loch Lomond two miles from Trossachs. For hikes, amble the short trails and stop off for lakeside picnics at the Three Loch forest drive, six miles from the site, or combine walks with wildlife with a pootle around Blair Drummond Safari Park within half an hour's drive. For a very Scottish flavour of break, have whisky tasting and a tour around Glengoyne Distillery, 10 minutes' drive away, take a tour of Stirling Castle and the National Wallace Monument (35 minutes) or take a boat trip to Inchmahome Priory on the Lake of Menteith, reachable within 10 minutes.
