  • Quiet adults-only pitches on a working arable farm in East Yorkshire
  • York and Castle Howard 25 minutes’ drive; the east coast 45 minutes
  • Direct access to the Minster Way; Stamford Bridge five minutes’ drive
The city or the countryside… what’s it to be? If you’re unwilling to give up either, make your way to Street Farm Caravan Park, set on an East Riding arable farm at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds. There are plenty of rural footpaths within the vicinity – in fact the Minster Way crosses the farmland – and as a bonus, the stunning city of York is just 25 minutes’ drive away for urban activities and historic sightseeing. These peaceful adults-only pitches are on a spacious park that also makes a great base for visiting the North York Moors National Park and east coast beaches, both of which are within 45 minutes’ drive of the farm. There’s easy access from the road for units of any size, and the camping field is generously proportioned, with plenty of space between neighbours for extra privacy. The site is well-equipped too, with top-notch shower and toilet facilities, an Elsan tipping point and coin-metered electric hook-ups with water and grey waste points on each of the fully-serviced pitches. The pretty local village of Stamford Bridge (five minutes’ drive) sits on the River Derwent and is home to shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways.

Fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked The site was so easy to get to and it is nice and level. Plenty of room at each pitch, the facilities were lovely and kept clean. Great little lake on site where I watched swallows dipping onto it and damselflies racing around over it.There are hares that come into the field as well. Great to get to York as the park & ride is not far away. There is so much to see in the surrounding areas. We liked it so much we have booked again while we were there but this time for a longer stay.

Disliked Not a single thing.

Liked Lovely small site well spaced pitches
Excellent clean private facilities some of the best we have seen
Near to surrounding villages to pop out for bar meals in country pubs

Disliked The only minor negative comment we had was the noise from the tractor working till 11pm on the Saturday night for anyone going to bed early this may interfere with sleep, however this would not stop us staying again as we did really did enjoy our stay we will definitely be back 😁

Fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked THIS WAS A LOVELY QUIET SITE, THE TOILET AND SHOWER BLOCK WERE OF A VERY HIGH STANDARD AND IMMACULATE, THE SITE ITSELF IS VERY WELL MAINTAINED WITH HARD STANDING PITCHES AND FULLY SERVICED. THE SITE HAS WELL MAINTAINED GRASS PATHS TO WALK YOUR DOGS AND A NICE LAKE TO WALK AROUND, THE SITE IS CLOSE TO STAMFORD BRIDGE WHICH HAS SHOPS AND TAKEAWAYS WHICH IS AROUND A 5 - 10 MIN DRIVE AWAY, THE OWNERS PROVIDED US WITH ALL THE NECESSARY INFORMATION ABOUT THE SITE ON THE MORNING OF OUR ARRIVAL AND WERE LOVELY THROUGHOUT OUR STAY, WE WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK AGAIN, MANY THANKS FOR A GREAT GETAWAY 😊😊😊

Fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked We liked everything about this newly developed site close to the working farm. We have tried quite a few pitch ups in our trips up to Scotland! It was peaceful, spotlessly clean and plenty of space between pitches as we have an anxious and reactive rescue dog who needs to travel with us. You require coins for the electric hook up only. We put a pound in for one night and there was still some left, so its economical. Becky helped with change for coins as we forgot as we'd had a few challenges with the campervan breaking down on our way from Scotland! This place was perfect for our needs. Lovely shower and toilet facilities with decent hand soap provided. A great stay for us, wished we could have stayed longer. Good luck to Jimmy and his sister Becky. In the words of the Terminator .....I'll be back! 😂

Disliked Nothing to do with the site, but none of the takeaways take debit cards, just cash. Maybe able to do it online though, unsure.

Local attractions

One way to see East Yorkshire on foot is by following the 50-mile Minster Way between Beverley, York and the Wolds, and handily for Street Farm guests, the trail crosses the farm. Anyone exploring under pedal power can access the Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Route near Pocklington (half an hour by bike). Two bucket-list attractions are within 25 minutes’ drive of the site: namely York with its spectacular Gothic minster, Roman/medieval walls and entertaining history museums, and gorgeous Castle Howard, designed by Sir John Vanbrugh and surrounded by parkland filled with sculptures and follies. Landscape architect Capability Brown had a hand in the gardens at Georgian-era Sledmere House (20 minutes), where kids bored with culture can pat ponies and feed lambs (in spring) at the Rare Breed Conservation Farm Park. If a little more activity is required, have a go at watersports at Allerthorpe Lakeland Park (20 minutes), where there’s also an aqua park for kids to fling themselves around on. And of course the east coast is only 45 minutes away by car; take your pick of peaceful walks along the sandy beach at Skipsea, or head for the two stretches of sand backed by amusement arcades and cafés in Bridlington.
