What customers say
Spacious grounds perfect for groups/families, with a lovely riverside spot for water activities. Friendly staff, generally clean facilities (though some note they're basic/could use upgrades & get messy when busy). Some road/camper noise reported.

From the manager: Thank you for choosing to stay with us and that you will recommend us and visit again.
Our ice cold drinks are priced at £1.50 per can similar to prices everywhere else if bought solo, we do not have enough room to stock packs of 6 or more, if we did they would work out cheaper but would need to be put in a fridge once bought to cool down. Guests with fridges are more than welcome to bring their own or buy locally.
We look forward to seeing you again.

Lovely Site - Will definitely visit again
Powered grass campsite
Liked Beautiful site. Lots of space. From checking in until packing up no issues. Nice facilities. Toilets and showers cleaned daily. (More than once).
Beautiful walks along the river.
Disliked Showers - Unusual not to have somewhere dry to leave your stuff whilst showering. No room or anywhere dry within shower cubicle. No choice but to leave it in the sink area in view of anyone using the facilities.

From the manager: Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to leave a review.
In the older block there is a bench with hooks above and 1 hook on the inside of the showers for towels and 1 hook on the outside to hang clothes or a bag on. In the wooden block there is a shower curtain separating the wet area from the dry area within the cubicles, unfortunately there is no other option.
We look forward to welcoming you again.
The site is unkempt, facilities very poor and staff rude.

From the manager: I am sorry you did not enjoy your 6 night stay.
There was a mix up with pitches and a new arrival was put on the same pitch for your 5th night, I came down and asked to see your check-in card as the system had you down as leaving that day. I apologised for having to check and the confusion. At no point did you raise any of the above issues either whilst I was at your pitch or during your stay.
The long stay guests, "not seasonal workers" were in the other electric field along with some holiday guests.
The facilities were cleaned 3 times per day, toilet paper etc on the floors and toilets not being flushed make the facilities look dirty however this is down to people not tidying up after themselves.
Nothing…

Disliked I booked two nights at this campsite, but sadly left early after the first night due to several issues that made the experience disappointing.
Upon arrival, we were handed a list of rules with no friendly introduction or orientation—just formalities.
We were disheartened to find litter on pitch from prior guests. The facilities were poorly maintained: toilet blocks were full, reeked of urine, and strewn with used toilet roll. The general upkeep felt neglected and unsanitary.
The site was overrun with large, loud family groups and drinking, kids rode bikes around the pitch, one even simultaneously picked his nose and bottom. Children drunk from our water tap. Come evening, the campsite turned into a “battle of the speakers” that raged well into the early hours, making it impossible to relax or sleep.
We tried to visit the nearby pub, The Brewers Fare, hoping for a better atmosphere—but it also felt run-down and in need of attention.
Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. Between the dirty facilities, noisy groups, and lack of welcome, we cut our stay short. Based on our visit, I’d recommend considering alternative campsites unless improvements are made.

From the manager: I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay arriving on Bank Holiday Monday as the majority of guests were leaving, it would appear from your comments they were not as respectful as they should have been.
All of the pitches including the fields were checked and cleaned on the Monday late morning and the fields another couple of times.
Every electric pitch has a water tap therefore should not be used by other pitches.
The toilets and showers get 3 daily cleans and may get dirty in-between if guests do not tidy up after themselves.
We come out at 10pm every night checking the site to make sure our rules/policies are being adhered to. Our 24 hour mobile number on the front of everyone's check-in card is for any issues whilst staying on site, unfortunately you did not call this number preferring to voice your issues here when it is too late to rectify them.

From the manager: Thank you for choosing to stay with us especially over the busy August bank holiday and sharing your photos.

Lovely open spaces and plenty of room to park away from neighbours!
Primitive grass campsite
Liked There are a number of very large open area grass fields to choose from, therefore there is plenty of space to pitch up.
Disliked There is only one toilet block area, the facilities are little tired and in need of some maintenance, some toilet doors don't have any locks on them and there was a missing sink tap.

From the manager: Thank you for choosing to stay with us over the busiest weekend of the year and for taking the time to leave a review.
Unfortunately we did have some breakages in the toilet/shower blocks, maintenance tried to fix as soon as possible during working hours.
We look forward to your next visit.
