Spacious campground with great river access. Plenty of room between sites. Facilities generally clean but could use more frequent cleaning/updating. Management is responsive; staff is friendly. Mostly quiet, but some noise from campers/vehicles reported. Dog-friendly.

Everything! There was plenty of space,…
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Everything! There was plenty of space, the toilets and showers were very clean. The easy access to the river for paddle boarding and the ease of checking in.
Disliked Couldn’t find fault with anything.

Beautiful location & easy to drop onto the river.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked This is 3rd or 4th time we have stayed here. For us the main attraction is the river. Either on our Sup boards or in our Kayaks. Only stayed one night this visit. Usually we stay for a few nights, we could only fit in one nights stay this time. Went on an evening Sup board paddle to the Boat house & had dinner then paddled back in the dark. Have never seen so many bats flying around in the evening as the sun went down, was incredible! Arrived back at the site for a well earned rest 22:30hrs. The busiest we’ve ever seen it here & still plenty of places to choose to put your camper or tent. A great no frills camping site.

From the manager: Thank you for your loyalty in choosing to stay with us and that you enjoy yourselves especially on the river.
Thank you so much for your private feed back and we look forward to welcoming you again.
lovely place just if you need the loo take your own port-a loo
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Very big felids lots of place to pitch up, clean toilet.
Disliked Only one toilet block so if you pitch up in another field it can be a very long walk or even a car drive back to the toilets, to which lots of people where doing and they drove very fast across the fields not really much care taken. Even though there’s a curfew for noise after 10 o’clock a big group of people thought it would be fine to shout sing until 3am.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: There are 2 toilet and shower blocks located right next to each other, for those choosing to be in a field further away it is advisable to bring a toilet tent if you do not want to walk or drive.
We were out on site from 9pm until 1130pm making sure everyone was adhering to the 10pm quiet policy and keeping to the speed limit etc.. Any disturbance after this time guests need to call us on the 24 hour mobile number printed on the front of their cards, no one called us including yourselves therefore we presumed all was quiet.
Not great
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Liked the river setting
Disliked We love the feeling of seclusion but if it wernt for the river there is literally nothing else to do for the kids. Asides from the fact the river has no safe access into it at all to enjoy the water. The guy selling paddleboard hire at 20 per hour would make it 120 quid for us a family with 4 kids. The kids play park displayed on google isnt there at all. For an award winning campsite thats charging for extras on everything its really poor quality. Basically just a field for 100 quid for 2 nights isn't on. Seems like the focus is on upselling extras like an awning or dogs to make even more money, angry is understatement. We were told on arrival we also couldn't have a firepit which wasn't great for the kids. To top it off they were letting a family ride a dirt bike round the field whilst the kids were playing and riding there pushbikes.

Amazing amount of space, lovely river…
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Amazing amount of space, lovely river walk.
Great place family get together.
Disliked Online information definitely could do with updating, there are no parks/play areas.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: When you book on Pitch-up we do not advertise as having any entertainment or play park. There is no mention of a play park on the official website as there is not one here.
Perhaps you will visit again to enjoy the country and river walks and bring some indoor and outdoor games for you and the family to enjoy together.

Access to Medway River…
Powered grass campsite
Liked Access to Medway River
Disliked While the site had a very large area for camping it was more a residential park than traditional campsite. Electric pitches were concentrated in a fairly small area away from the River. Facilities were disgusting when we arrived on a Sunday but cleaned OK by Monday morning and afterwards.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: We only have 1 small electric field which does have long stay guests, this is not a residential park. There are 8 very large non-electric fields and 3 are very close to the river, the electric field you were on is further away from the river which meant a long walk or a short drive with your kayaks.
The majority of guests compliment the facilities including those staying on the Sunday you arrived, I presume you used the facilities just before our cleaners arrived again.
Overall a pleasant stay.
Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Plenty of space and lovely location.
Disliked Expensive electric hook up, especially as summer time and very little electric used.
Small shower cubicles, difficult to shower without getting clothes and shoes wet.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to leave a review as they do help people when deciding where to stay.
The electric pitches are between £8.50 to £10 more expensive than the non-electric pitches and it is a personal choice in deciding what type of pitch to book. Many guests choose non-electric and use power packs or foldable solar panels for electric.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.
