What customers say
This campsite offers plenty of space and a laid-back vibe, with many guests loving the freedom to pick their spot and enjoy the river. Facilities are usually clean and sufficient. Staff are often called friendly and helpful. While some mention loud neighbors or a trek to amenities from certain areas, better showers and clearer signs are suggested improvements. Great for a spacious outdoor getaway.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Easy check in and no check out. Loads of space. I liked the ability to pitch where ever i wanted. I forgot the matches at home and the receptionist gave us a small box for free, which i really appreciated.
Disliked I think if it was busier then another toilet block would be needed in the other fields.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked We went non electric field and I liked the fact you can choose which field u want to go on and pitch up where u want, the kids was jumping in the river of a swing someone had made on a tree, walks in the forest, 10minute drive to Asda which I found very handy, staff was very welcoming at the reception. Would 100% come back in the future.

Wholesome family weekend
Powered grass campsite
Liked Plenty of open fields for the kids to play - we brought our own cricket, football & Frisbee for their entertainment.
Plenty of water points on field C.
The river was easily accessible by walking through the toilet block field and the field beyond that - kids loved their swim in the river & using the rope swings.
Toilets and showers were clean when I visited. They were continuously cleaned 7am-7pm throughout our bank holiday stay - the cleaning lady was always lovely. Outside of those hours there was muddy footprints which was to be expected considering the down pours we had!
Was a nice touch that a lady on a golf buggy alerted us that we could use fires again on the Saturday (although we didn't)
Disliked The weather - typical bank holiday (LOL!)

Good site for kayaking, lovely river.…
Powered grass campsite
Liked Good site for kayaking, lovely river.
Disliked Electric pitches so close together
very noisy until 11.30pm.
The older set of toilets/shower block smell terrible at times.
No park for children just a field really.

Spacious, flat site.…
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Spacious, flat site.
Disliked No wardens checking the site during the evening/night so noisy at night until early hours. No hot water in the ladies showers on one of the days we were there. Very basic site, lots of space but only one toilet/shower block for such a huge site so unless you’re completely self contained, it’s a looooong walk to the toilet/shower… which also means lots of cars/vans driving around the site to get to the facilities from their pitch at various times of day and night.
Launch sites to the river not marked from the fields, although a map was given on booking in but was not clear when trying to find in the field.
A very basic site, all facilities tired.
Such a shame as this site has a lot of potential given its size but appears the owners don’t want to invest in it.

One of the better campsites we’ve been to.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Extremely helpful staff. Very spacious and don’t have to be on top of one another. Would definitely be going back again next year. Showers good temperature & was always able to shower & never had to wait.
Disliked Showers switched off very quickly. I understand why you have to operate them like that, but it felt like you almost had to keep your finger on the button just to rinse off the soap.
