Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Good location

Disliked Seem to just allow any behaviour, we had issues with kids disturbing other pitches and guests, we had footballs kicked at our tent and car constantly with no staff seeming to care. Also had issues with large groups taking up multiple pitches drinking, shouting, swearing until 2/3am and leaving litter everywhere, even with making noise complaints to the warden nothing changed. Just seems like once people have paid and set up the site doesn’t care what happens or care about what goes on. This is a shame as have been staying here for a few years but have noticed the site has gotten progressively worse so will most likely not be returning.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Great location: short walk to the beach, short walk to the caravan site bar and shop. Short train ride away from Barmouth. Lovely beach. Clean facilities.

Disliked Large groups which were quite loud at times and no loo roll in the evenings until restocked the next morning.

Local attractions

To Barmouth first, of course: its position on the north Wales coast surrounded by Snowdonia National Park makes it a popular and pretty place to visit – and the huge beach is pretty special to see as well. Away from the coast (eventually), a wide range of activities is available around Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park, from cycling to hiking to pony trekking – or strap on lots of energy and tackle the Snowdon and Cadair Idris mountain ranges a short distance away. A chuffing good way to see the spectacular scenery of north Wales is on one of its small steam trains: the nearest to Tyddyn Goronwy are the Fairbourne Steam Railway just outside Barmouth and the Ffestiniog Railway about 10 miles away.
