Settle in for sea views from several corners of the site at Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park in Gwynedd, in the seaside village of Tal-y-Bont and a couple of miles from the beaut beach at Barmouth. Pods and pitches here are flanked by sea and mountain views, and are within easy walking distance of the village, which has a takeaway and a riverside pub. Even closer is Talybont station, a couple of minutes' walk away and handy for outings to Barmouth beach or north to the peaks of Snowdonia. Showers, toilets and a washing-up area are available on site. The pitch price at Tyddyn Goronwy also includes a free leisure pass to its sister park Sunnysands Caravan Park, a short drive away, to use its heated indoor pool, café, fish and chip shop and other facilities – and you might want to stick around for the spectacular beachfront sunsets too.

Oil heater provided

No em va agradar We were told to bring bedding but not to bring the actual bed.
We have stayed in pods before on different sites, where a hard standing bed and mattress were supplied, but arrived to basically to an empty shed with an oil heater in it, so we ended up sleeping on the floor.
All the pods were empty yet we were placed furthest away from the amenities block.
All the pods back onto a railway track so we're kept awake by night trains rolling past.
Showers has black mould on some of them and you have to keep one hand constantly on the push button to prevent the water turning off.
Their where cobwebs with live spiders above the door entrance internally. Small rear window at back of pod did not have lock or interlocking lever (you just pushed it and it opened) so anyone could reach in and grab coats or bags from coat hooks immediately below it.
Youth Hostel Association (YHA) pods are cheaper than this and you actually get bedding supplied in there prices.
Needless to say we left as soon as day broke, thank goodness we were only there 1 night.

Em va agradar Stayed for two nights, camping.
A very basic site. We found the toilet/shower blocks in need of an update, and not very well looked after. Not particularly clean it has to be said.The water was hot though. Not keen on the one outside and uncovered washing up sink. Again, just left untouched except for anyone using it. The beach, which is always stunning wherever you stay was, we felt, just a bit too far, down a narrow lane. Not for us so wont be returning.

Em va agradar Good location, friendly helpful staff.

No em va agradar Shower/toilet block is really run down, mould in all the shower trays, extractor vents bunged up with dust, shower pipes hanging off the wall, cobwebs everywhere, mirrors all tatty, shower screen handle hanging off, hole in the wall of the ladies block and just outside washing up area there is an old wash station that has been dumped and looked like it had been there a while.

Em va agradar Open site close to the beach, just a short walk down the Lane. The site is very close to the train station and handy to get to/from Barmouth. Ok toilet/shower block.

No em va agradar No obvious recycling. Whilst there was one dishwashing sink it was uncovered outside and a bit grim.

Travelling in the direction of Harlech from Barmouth, Tyddyn Goronwy is your next left turning after Sunnysands Caravan Park, signposted Talybont train station or the Sands leisure complex. Pass the railway bridge and Tyddyn Goronwy is the first on your left.

To Barmouth first, of course: its position on the north Wales coast surrounded by Snowdonia National Park makes it a popular and pretty place to visit – and the huge beach is pretty special to see as well. Away from the coast (eventually), a wide range of activities is available around Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park, from cycling to hiking to pony trekking – or strap on lots of energy and tackle the Snowdon and Cadair Idris mountain ranges a short distance away. A chuffing good way to see the spectacular scenery of north Wales is on one of its small steam trains: the nearest to Tyddyn Goronwy are the Fairbourne Steam Railway just outside Barmouth and the Ffestiniog Railway about 10 miles away.
