The location is brilliant. Woke up each morning with a great view of the sea. Facilities were clean and close by. 👍👍👍👍👍
Plenty for the kids to do within walking distance and really handy for train station for trips to Barmouth or Porthmadog 🍺🍺.

From the manager...

Thanks for your review, bank holidays are always very buisy, it is very difficult to control who is arriving onto the camping site, through the day and night, especially when people just turn up, that have not pre booked a camping pitch.

We cannot be around 24/7 but we do try very hard, to control overcrowding issues on bank holidays thanks the management at Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park.

Can be pleasant or a nightmare. Pot luck.08/30/2019

TV/DVD player in pod along with electric socket. Good view of sunset over the sea, showers and toilets clean and tidy. If travelling by train about 5 min walk from station to camp site.
Some good attractions and sites within a 20 min drive. Very nice beach with some interesting rock pools, very clean. If you like military planes, you may get lucky and see a variety of British and US jets flying over.
Billy's Fish Bar (about a 5 min walk) is to die for. Also quite a good amusement arcade for the children to enjoy.
The pods were very snug especially when it was raining and windy and they had a heater in also.

    Disliked:

The fact that there is no receptionist manning the desk is very unprofessional. Keys to the pods were left on an open shelf which anyone could have access to. My daughter was staying in a two people tent and the owner came round at 22:30hrs to collect her tent fee.
Dogs were also a problem, they are supposed to be kept on leads but this was blatantly ignored, even caught one dog urinating on my daughters tent as it was wandering around freely.
Although the toilets were clean, the ladies quite frequently ran out of toilet paper. The showers would only last about 5 seconds when the button was pressed which made showering quite awkward. The decking around the outside of the toilets was raised in places and many times I stubbed my toes and tripped, especially at night.
Driving down to the amusements or beach could be a nightmare as the road was narrow with a lot of walkers using it. This was very problematic when they walked on both sides of the road
The only downside of the pod was the fact that there was a high step onto the decking, which proved awkward to quite a few people.
My biggest dislike was not the campsite itself but the few campers who ruined it for everyone else. The majority were very pleasant and decent people.

From the manager...

Thanks for your review, bank holidays are always very busy on any site, and cause us a lot of extra work and hassle. If we see dogs off leads, we will tell the owners, but we can’t be there 24/7 to see everything that goes on.Again your point with the pod keys, we have always run the pods in this way, and it works well, we can’t justify having the reception open all day, for a few customers, we have lots of other work to do, but in busy periods the reception is open all day.

We live on the site, so we are always around to sort issues out, we have our mobile number displayed on the reception door, so we can be contacted during the evenings any time, we walk around the site until late to make sure everything is ok and that people are behaving themselves.

Also we walk around the site to check on tents that have arrived and to collect payment, this can be at any time especially if we do not know who people are or how long they are staying for.

We work very hard to keep both the camping site looking immaculate, and keeping all of our customers happy old and new, thanks for your review and see you soon regards the management at Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park.

Local attractions

To Barmouth first, natch: its position on the north Wales coast surrounded by Snowdonia National Park makes it a popular and pretty place to visit – and the huge beach is pretty special to see as well.

Away from the coast (eventually), a wide range of activities is available around Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park, from cycling to hiking to pony trekking – or strap on lots of energy and tackle the Snowdon and Cadair mountain ranges a short distance away.

A chuffing good way to see the spectacular scenery of north Wales is on one of its small steam trains: the nearest to Tyddyn Goronwy are the Fairbourne Steam Railway just outside Barmouth and the Ffestiniog Railway about ten miles away.
