  • Access to facilities of sister site including swimming pool
Settle in for sea views from several corners of the site at Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park in Gwynedd, in the seaside village of Tal-y-Bont and a couple of miles from the beaut beach at Barmouth. Pods and pitches here are flanked by sea and mountain views, and are within easy walking distance of the village, which has a takeaway and a riverside pub. Even closer is Talybont station, a couple of minutes' walk away and handy for outings to Barmouth beach or north to the peaks of Snowdonia. Showers, toilets and a washing-up area are available on site. The pitch price at Tyddyn Goronwy also includes a free leisure pass to its sister park Sunnysands Caravan Park, a short drive away, to use its heated indoor pool, café, fish and chip shop and other facilities – and you might want to stick around for the spectacular beachfront sunsets too.

What customers say

This campsite boasts a superb location, offering stunning sea and mountain views, with easy walking access to the beach, shops, and train station. Visitors consistently praise the clean facilities, friendly staff, and well-maintained grounds. Pods are a popular choice for their comfort and convenience. While most guests had a positive experience, some minor issues were noted, including occasional noise from fellow campers and dated shower facilities.

Liked The facilities were lovely, clean and really friendly helpful staff. 10 minutes walk to the beach, supermarket and chippy. Loved the fact you could walk 20 minutes down the beach to the sister site and use the facilities there.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked How close it was to some of the places we were exploring but that’s it

Disliked 8am and no toilet rolls. When the toilets/showers are being cleaned it’s closed for 45minutes. As there was no indication of what times this was happening we were caught short which isn’t acceptable really. No recycling it all goes in general waste. If you like overpriced cheap shops and slot machine type places you’ll like it nearby but not for us. Told we had a sea view well if we climbed to the top of the wall between us and the sea view yes but otherwise nope. There was nobody for a while to let us in and when they arrived they did nothing but moan about stuff and it was as if we put on them (clearly not happy in there job and that was clearly communicated). It’s not for us but there were a lot of kids throwing water balloons around and kicking footballs all over the place so not relaxing at all

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Site was well located and close to the beach. Good size pitch and hook up access.

Disliked Code for women's toilets due to creepy men was concerning...

When we arrived nobody was around and the number on door was not picking up so we couldn't get through the barrier.

We were given a leaflet for a number of activities and restaurants, but when we explored this was actually a different campsite a 5 minute drive away which we didn't have the code to enter. This was pretty annoying!

Showers I didn't use but they did look a little gunky.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Great location, big pitches and generally a nice camp site with lovely views.

Disliked We were next to the bin bay, and this hadn’t been emptied due to the bank holiday, in the heatwave it smelt rather unpleasant!

One evening only cold (freezing!) water in shower block, but it was 30c outside so quite refreshing, just not great for trying to wash children’s hair.

Local attractions

To Barmouth first, of course: its position on the north Wales coast surrounded by Snowdonia National Park makes it a popular and pretty place to visit – and the huge beach is pretty special to see as well. Away from the coast (eventually), a wide range of activities is available around Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park, from cycling to hiking to pony trekking – or strap on lots of energy and tackle the Snowdon and Cadair Idris mountain ranges a short distance away. A chuffing good way to see the spectacular scenery of north Wales is on one of its small steam trains: the nearest to Tyddyn Goronwy are the Fairbourne Steam Railway just outside Barmouth and the Ffestiniog Railway about 10 miles away.
