Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Welcome, we had a telephone call asking what time we were due and clear instructions on where to go to check in. Very friendly welcome.
We were moved closer to the toilet and shower block as we had young children.
The toilets and showers were immaculate.
Very large pitch.
Plenty to do for the kids.
Lovely walks around the campsite.
Easy to find.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Very clean site, friendly atmosphere and very quiet. Absolutely gorgeous views.
More suited to adults rather than families with young children.

Disliked No reception area, wardens on site but struggled to get hold of them on the last day requesting late check out - which could only be committed to on the last day. No amenities close by so had a drive to the nearest shop for essentials. Reception area looked like it was in process of being built so maybe plans to include a shop? No play area but undercover pool table and some games for older children, but not in great state of repair. The most expensive fully serviced site we have been too.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the cleanliness of our site, the friendly and peaceful atmosphere, and of course the beautiful views—we’re very proud of them!
We also appreciate your constructive comments. You are right that our reception area is currently being developed. We do encourage our guests to use the community shop in Bethel. We are sorry that you had difficulty fining the staff for your request for a late check out, they were working down on the site and we did have problems with the phones on that day (which have now been rectified)
As for family amenities, our site is designed with tranquility in mind, Unfortunately, some children found scraping the pool cues on the floor as entertainment. They have now been replaced (the pool cues not the children!) We understand your concerns about value for money and will keep working to ensure our guests feel their stay matches their expectations.
We hope to welcome you back in the future to experience the improvements as they come together.

Liked Clean site with generous plots

Disliked Sloping ground, too much to be able to level up in a motorhome

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your comments. We’re delighted you found the site clean and appreciated the generous size of our pitches.
We’re sorry the slope of the ground made things difficult with your motorhome. We did offer you levelling ramps. We do have some more level areas on site, so if you return, please let us know when booking and we’ll do our best to allocate a pitch that better suits your needs.
We’d love to welcome you back again in the future.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Very clean toilet and shower facilities and friendly, helpful staff. Water taps super close by to the tent and the wifi connection was really strong. Fantastic view of the mountains too! The campsite was a 23 minute drive to the starting point of the Snowdon, Rhyd Ddu Path.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely feedback! We’re so pleased you enjoyed the cleanliness of our facilities, the convenience of the water taps, and the strong Wi-Fi. It’s wonderful to know our friendly team and the mountain views helped make your stay memorable. Local attractions

Standing where the Afont Seiont river meets the Menai Strait, Caernarfon Castle (10 minutes’ drive) is a forbidding medieval fortress and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Perhaps best known as the place where Prince Charles was invested in 1969, it also houses the Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum, which explores the history of this infantry regiment. If you’re in a ‘feel the fear, but do it anyway’ mood, you can head to Zip World Penrhyn Quarry (20 minutes), where the Velocity 2 zipline stretches across a lake, allowing you to travel at speeds of up to 100mph. If you are brave enough to keep your eyes open during your flight, you can also take in splendid views of Eryri (Snowdonia). For something less hair-raising, Portmeirion (40 minutes) is a village featuring Italian-inspired pastel-coloured buildings and lush sub-tropical vegetation. Grab an ice cream from Italian gelateria Caffi’r Angel, and take a leisurely stroll through the quaint streets or along the sandy beach on the Afon Dwyryd estuary.
