  • Clifftop site with stunning sea views out towards Cardigan Bay
  • Under 15 minutes' drive from Aberystwyth
  • Playground and games lounge on site; direct pebble beach access
What a stunning place: carve out as much time as you can to stay at Morfa Bychan Holiday Park, which is on a Ceredigion clifftop overlooking the stunning Cardigan Bay. As you'll see from the pics, spectacular sea views are all around here, so you can be basking among these Welsh coast views as soon as you arrive (barbecues are allowed for those who prefer to bask among coastal views while their other half preps the alfresco eats). Beach access is a cinch too, as the famed seaside resort of Aberystwyth is within six miles, and the park has direct access to its own pebble beach for shore walks, fishing, boating, rockpooling and surfing. There's loads of room for kids to run around at the park and on the beach; should they inexplicably tire of this, take them along to Morfa's pirate ship play area to swashbuckle and swing. The heated outdoor pool (open during high season only) and spacious grassy area alongside are other popular family spots, as is the games lounge with board and computer games, TV, pool tables and air hockey. The friendly team is on hand to help with whatever you might need, whether it's assistance in getting set up when you arrive or sharing their tips on the (many) top places to make for in the region. There's a stack of tourist info at the site reception to aid your decision-making further and give you something to read while your other half sorts out the coffee…

What customers say

This is a beautifully maintained and clean campsite with stunning sea views and spectacular sunsets, offering a peaceful escape. Pitches are generally spacious and well-equipped, with friendly and helpful staff. Facilities, including the swimming pool and dog exercise area, are popular. Some guests note the narrow access road and dated shower facilities, though upgrades are planned. While some find it remote, many appreciate the tranquility and return regularly.

Cormorant electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (sloping)

Liked Swimming pool was a very lovely idea and made the holiday feel more special.

Disliked That I had to find my own pitch, got handed a map and left to it. Would have been better if an employee walked with us and guided us to the pitch.
I feel like the hotel could do more for example if they knew football was playing they could have organised an event instead of making us do it ourselves.

From the manager: Hi Patrycja,

Thank you for your review, and we’re very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the swimming pool and that it added something special to your stay.

Regarding finding your pitch, our camping and tent areas work differently from our touring and motorhome pitches. Guests choose their own spot within the designated camping field, and our team shows you to the correct area rather than selecting a specific pitch. The park map you were given includes all facilities and layout information to help you settle in.

A member of staff also visited your setup shortly after your arrival to make sure everything was okay and to ensure you were not too close to the facilities. While we are always happy to help, we cannot operate as a 24‑hour concierge service — we are a peaceful coastal camping ground, not a hotel.

In terms of entertainment, we do not provide organised events or scheduled activities. A 10pm football kickoff is not something all guests would want to participate in, especially families with young children or those who come here specifically for the quiet atmosphere. Guests are welcome to enjoy the match together if they wish, but we do not run late‑evening entertainment.

We hope you had a relaxing stay overall, and we’d be happy to welcome you back again for another peaceful break by the coast.

Warm regards,
The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park Team

Kestrel clifftop fully-serviced hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch (no awning)

Liked Pool was great for the kids, little shop onsite with essentials, good games room for older kids with a tv and cool when it was super warm. The part with the holiday caravans in looked beautiful, park had an amazing view from it. We were on Kestrel sea view pitch without awning but could use our wind out which was fine for us.i

Disliked Overall I think the touring part of the park could look a lot nicer compared to the rest of the park. However we loved our stay, had an amazing view and the facilities were great. Very rocky pebbly beach but we drove to Borth to let the kids play on the sand , only 30 minutes away. Toilet block needs updating but can see a new building being built and a sign saying it has been delayed so looking forward to seeing that if we return. No motorhome waste point that we could see.

From the manager: Hi Abigail,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review and share your feedback following your stay.

We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed many aspects of the park, and we appreciate your comments regarding the appearance of some of the newer areas. This summer has been one of the driest we have experienced for many years, and as a result even our usually lush green grass has become dry and straw-like in places despite our best efforts.

The newer pitch areas are part of an ongoing improvement project, and while they may currently look a little established-in-progress, they have been designed with extensive landscaping in mind. As the hedging, planting and surrounding vegetation mature over time, these areas will develop significantly and blend beautifully into the park's coastal setting.

We are continually investing in improvements across the park, including new facilities and landscaping works, and we're excited to see these projects take shape over the coming months.

Thank you again for your feedback and for choosing Morfa Bychan Holiday Park. We hope to welcome you back in the future so you can see how the new areas have progressed and matured.

Warm regards,
The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park Team

Liked Views from the pitch were incredible, staff were all very friendly and helpful. Swimming pool was clean and a relief from the hot weather.
Great little shop and the walk into aber via the costal path was breathtaking.

Disliked Not a dislike but we had been out for tea and came back to a pizza truck at the site. Would have enjoyed that if we had known about it.

Disliked Gravel pitch was quite loose in places and was difficult with my motor mover, but it managed and shouldn’t be used as a negative and was the only thing I had negative to say

From the manager: Hi Steve,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed the peaceful coastal setting here at Morfa Bychan.

Regarding the points you mentioned, all of the features you’ve highlighted — the rocky shoreline, the rural access lane, and the preferred arrival and departure route — are clearly described before booking. We always encourage guests to read this information carefully, as it helps ensure expectations match the natural character of the park. The coastline here is beautiful but naturally rocky, and the access lane is typical of rural Wales, which is why we provide detailed guidance on the correct route for larger vehicles.

In terms of the building work, the new washblock is an essential improvement for the park. Work only takes place on weekdays between 8am and 5pm, and now that we’re in the final stages, noise is minimal and disruption is very low. We appreciate your understanding as we complete this upgrade for the benefit of all future guests.

We’re glad you were able to enjoy the tranquillity of the site overall, and we’d be happy to welcome you back again for another peaceful coastal break.

Warm regards,
The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park Team

Kestrel clifftop fully-serviced hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch (no awning)

Liked Fantastic sea views from my pitch on Kestrel, quite busy on arrival but fairly quiet. Lovely clean facilities and friendly and helpful staff. Small shop with basics that you may need. Some building work in progress for new wash room and toilet facilities but wasn't too noisy. Absolutely beautiful grounds to walk around, flowers and beautiful gardens, woodland walk and access to the coastal path, secure and quiet dedicated dog walking field. Beach was rocky but went on a few nice walks there. Swimming pool available daily but not used as l had my dog with me. Reasonably priced for EHU and sea views. Will definitely be visiting again in the near future!

Disliked Nothing at all to dislike!

From the manager: Hi Karen,

Thank you so much for your wonderful 10/10 review and for taking the time to share your experience.

We're delighted that you enjoyed the spectacular sea views from your Kestrel pitch, as well as our facilities, gardens, woodland walks and dedicated dog walking area. It's especially pleasing to hear that our team made you feel welcome and that you found the park peaceful and relaxing during your stay.

We appreciate your understanding regarding the ongoing work on our new washroom facilities, and we're pleased it didn't impact your visit. Your kind comments about the cleanliness of the park and the beautiful grounds mean a great deal to us.

Thank you again for choosing Morfa Bychan Holiday Park. We look forward to welcoming you and your dog back again very soon for another relaxing stay by the coast.

From the manager: Hi Tomas,

Thank you very much for your excellent 10/10 review. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the covered swimming pool, the washing and drying facilities, and of course the beautiful views — they’re a big part of what makes Morfa Bychan so special.

Regarding the points you mentioned, the walk to the sea and the rocky shoreline are part of our natural coastal setting, and we make sure this is clearly described before booking so guests know what to expect. Many visitors enjoy the scenery and the quiet atmosphere, but we understand it may feel a little further than expected.

We appreciate your note about the shower temperature — we’ll take a look to make sure everything is set comfortably for all guests.

We’re really pleased you had such a positive stay overall, and we’d be very happy to welcome you back again for another peaceful break by the coast.

Liked Me and my husband and a lovely holiday here it was so peaceful and relaxing, with amazing views, had a nice little garden to walk around with pretty flowers, the pool was nice was a nice temperature. The site was really clean!
Even there was work being done on the new shower block the builders was not load at all. Very impressed with this holiday and will come here and would definitely recommend it. There is also so much to do off site aswell.

Disliked Only thing that was not expecting was paying for the WiFi but it was a big issue as nice to be without technology for a few days.

We're delighted to hear that you and your husband had such a peaceful and relaxing holiday with us. It's wonderful to know that you enjoyed the amazing views, the gardens and flowers around the park, the swimming pool, and the cleanliness of the site. We're also pleased that the ongoing construction of our new shower block did not disturb your stay and that you found the atmosphere calm and enjoyable.

Thank you for mentioning the Wi-Fi. We appreciate that this came as a surprise, although we're pleased to hear it didn't detract from your holiday and that you were able to enjoy a few days away from technology.

It's especially rewarding to hear that you were impressed with your stay and would both return and recommend us to others. There is certainly plenty to see and do in the local area, and we're glad you had the opportunity to explore some of it during your visit.

Local attractions

The Wales Coast Path runs through the park and is easily accessible via kissing gates. The path runs for a whopping 870 miles from Chepstow in the south to Queensferry in the north: potter the few miles to Aberystwyth and then – for the energetic – hike further for 10 miles on the linked Ceredigion Coast Path to its finishing point at Ynyslas. Aberystwyth, 15 minutes' drive away, has stacks to do in and out of peak season, including a harbour to wander around, the National Library of Wales and the Aberystwyth Arts Centre for indoor days, and a buzzing nightlife with pubs, gigs and eateries aplenty. The same distance in the other direction will land you at Llanrhystud, a popular spot in summer for beaches, watersports and fishing. Nature spotting and birdwatching are easily accessed in the area too, either under your own steam or via a dolphin and seal safari trip around Cardigan Bay. Ensure your marine mammal sightings – recommended if you possess fractious offspring – with a trip to the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre at New Quay; boat trips can be booked from here too.
