What a stunning place: carve out as much time as you can to stay at Morfa Bychan Holiday Park, which is on a Ceredigion clifftop overlooking the stunning Cardigan Bay. As you'll see from the pics, spectacular sea views are all around here, so you can be basking among these Welsh coast views as soon as you arrive (barbecues are allowed for those who prefer to bask among coastal views while their other half preps the alfresco eats). Beach access is a cinch too, as the famed seaside resort of Aberystwyth is within six miles, and the park has direct access to its own pebble beach for shore walks, fishing, boating, rockpooling and surfing. There's loads of room for kids to run around at the park and on the beach; should they inexplicably tire of this, take them along to Morfa's pirate ship play area to swashbuckle and swing. The heated outdoor pool (open during high season only) and spacious grassy area alongside are other popular family spots, as is the games lounge with board and computer games, TV, pool tables and air hockey. The friendly team is on hand to help with whatever you might need, whether it's assistance in getting set up when you arrive or sharing their tips on the (many) top places to make for in the region. There's a stack of tourist info at the site reception to aid your decision-making further and give you something to read while your other half sorts out the coffee…

What customers say

This is a beautifully maintained and clean campsite with stunning sea views and spectacular sunsets, offering a peaceful escape. Pitches are generally spacious and well-equipped, with friendly and helpful staff. Facilities, including the swimming pool and dog exercise area, are popular. Some guests note the narrow access road and dated shower facilities, though upgrades are planned. While some find it remote, many appreciate the tranquility and return regularly.

Buzzard fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Great position, lovely views, very polite and welcoming staff. Fantastic little pool.

Disliked Some locals didn't quite like caravans coming down there road so the had to reverse

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Kev,

Thank you very much for your lovely 9/10 review. We’re really pleased to hear you enjoyed the position of your pitch, the views, the warm welcome from the team, and the little pool — it’s great to know you had such a positive stay.

Regarding the situation on the lane, thank you for mentioning it. We do ask all caravans and motorhomes to follow a specific route when departing, as it avoids the narrower access road and helps keep things running smoothly for everyone. It looks like the alternative route was taken by mistake, which is why the locals were surprised to see a caravan coming down that lane. We’ll continue reminding guests of the correct exit route to prevent any confusion in future.

We’re glad the rest of your stay was enjoyable, and we’d be very happy to welcome you back for another relaxing break by the coast.

Warm regards,
The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park Team

Red Kite fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked We stayed here in our motorhome this weekend and had a fantastic experience. The campsite is very well maintained and spotlessly clean throughout. Check-in was smooth and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.

Our pitch had everything we needed and we had no issues during our stay. The indoor swimming pool was a real bonus—free to use, very clean, and a lovely temperature. Even the changing rooms were spotless, which really stood out.

The grounds are beautifully kept, and the children’s play park was clean, safe, and well maintained. We also loved the pizza van on the Friday evening—it was a great addition. The small shop at reception was really handy too, with a good selection of essentials.

Overall, it’s a lovely campsite with excellent facilities, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Highly recommended!

Disliked The only downside for us was that there wasn’t an on-site restaurant or pub. As the campsite is quite a long way from the nearest town, it would really benefit from having somewhere on site to enjoy a meal or a drink without having to travel. Adding a restaurant, pub, or even a café would make an already great campsite even better.

From the manager: Hi there,

Thank you so much for your fantastic 9/10 review. We’re delighted to hear how much you enjoyed the spotless facilities, warm welcome at check‑in, beautifully kept grounds, and the indoor pool — it’s wonderful to know everything helped make your stay so enjoyable. We’re also glad you liked the play park, the Friday pizza van, and found the shop handy for essentials.

Regarding food options, we completely understand your point. We recommend the various takeaway deliveries that come directly to the park, as they give guests plenty of choice without affecting the peaceful, rural charm that makes Morfa Bychan special. Opening a pub, restaurant, or café on site would change the quiet atmosphere many guests come here for, and due to our location it simply wouldn’t be cost‑effective to run — so we focus on maintaining a calm, well‑kept environment and offering convenient alternatives instead.

We’re thrilled you had such a positive stay overall, and we’d be very happy to welcome you back again for another relaxing break by the coast.

Warm regards,
The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park Team

Red Kite fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked Clean and tidy site

Disliked The road access is to narrow for Motorhome’s !! Ours was damaged by grass verge.
Site should consider better signage for larger vehicles directing them further to the next turning off the main road
Also we booked a large kitepitch and were given a small campervan pitch
We were moved as it did not comply with fire break rules.

From the manager: Hi Mrs Hales,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We’re pleased to hear you found the park clean and tidy.

Regarding the access road, the arrival instructions we provide before booking clearly explain which route motorhomes should use. Your vehicle was no larger than many of the motorhomes that visit us regularly without difficulty — it appears the issue arose from taking the narrower road rather than following the guidance provided. We always encourage guests to read the access information carefully, as it’s designed to make arrival as smooth as possible.

In terms of your pitch, there were no fire‑break concerns. You were initially placed on one of our new Buzzard hardstanding pitches, but after you mentioned you didn’t like that particular location, we moved you to a Red Kite hardstanding pitch instead. Both pitch types are the same size, and we were happy to accommodate your preference for a different spot.

We appreciate your feedback and hope the rest of your stay was enjoyable.

Warm regards,
The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park Team

Hallo Andreas,

From the manager: Hi Mary,

Thank you so much for your lovely 10/10 review. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere here and found our team friendly — that means a lot to us.

Regarding the shop, its small size and limited range are mentioned in our information before booking, as we like guests to have a clear picture of what to expect. Many visitors use it for essentials and enjoy heading into town for anything more substantial, but we appreciate you sharing your thoughts.

We’re really pleased you had such a positive stay overall, and we’d be very happy to welcome you back again for another quiet break by the sea.

Liked The site is so well maintained. Plenty of dog poop bins, benches to enjoy the view and shop is very reasonably priced! The pool and changing area is really clean and welcoming. Loved the coastal path walk and the private beach. Dogs enjoyed the exercise area. It was well lit at night. Staff extremely friendly. Great park for the children. Everything about this site makes us want to visit time and time again.

Disliked The only dislike was that you had to pay separately for the Wifi if you wished to do so.

Local attractions

The Wales Coast Path runs through the park and is easily accessible via kissing gates. The path runs for a whopping 870 miles from Chepstow in the south to Queensferry in the north: potter the few miles to Aberystwyth and then – for the energetic – hike further for 10 miles on the linked Ceredigion Coast Path to its finishing point at Ynyslas. Aberystwyth, 15 minutes' drive away, has stacks to do in and out of peak season, including a harbour to wander around, the National Library of Wales and the Aberystwyth Arts Centre for indoor days, and a buzzing nightlife with pubs, gigs and eateries aplenty. The same distance in the other direction will land you at Llanrhystud, a popular spot in summer for beaches, watersports and fishing. Nature spotting and birdwatching are easily accessed in the area too, either under your own steam or via a dolphin and seal safari trip around Cardigan Bay. Ensure your marine mammal sightings – recommended if you possess fractious offspring – with a trip to the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre at New Quay; boat trips can be booked from here too.
