What a stunning place: carve out as much time as you can to stay at Morfa Bychan Holiday Park, which is on a Ceredigion clifftop overlooking the stunning Cardigan Bay. As you'll see from the pics, spectacular sea views are all around here, so you can be basking among these Welsh coast views as soon as you arrive (barbecues are allowed for those who prefer to bask among coastal views while their other half preps the alfresco eats). Beach access is a cinch too, as the famed seaside resort of Aberystwyth is within six miles, and the park has direct access to its own pebble beach for shore walks, fishing, boating, rockpooling and surfing. There's loads of room for kids to run around at the park and on the beach; should they inexplicably tire of this, take them along to Morfa's pirate ship play area to swashbuckle and swing. The heated outdoor pool (open during high season only) and spacious grassy area alongside are other popular family spots, as is the games lounge with board and computer games, TV, pool tables and air hockey. The friendly team is on hand to help with whatever you might need, whether it's assistance in getting set up when you arrive or sharing their tips on the (many) top places to make for in the region. There's a stack of tourist info at the site reception to aid your decision-making further and give you something to read while your other half sorts out the coffee…

What customers say

Visitors praise the spectacular coastal views, immaculate grounds, and friendly staff. The site offers excellent facilities, including a popular swimming pool and playground, with direct beach access. While some mention the narrow approach road and dated shower facilities (undergoing renovation), the overall experience is highly positive, with many planning return visits.

Cormorant electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (sloping)

Liked The gorgeous view, the cleanliness of the toilets, beautiful floral planters, friendly staff, great playground for the kids which was empty by 9pm (staff enforced this) and site was very quiet after about 10pm. Loved the pool and the facilities poolside were lovely, very clean and modern.

Disliked Ground is rocky and therefore very difficult to pitch. We are aware that the ground was dry due to recent hot weather, but most pegs were only going in up to about 5cm and then hitting rock, therefore taking a lot longer to pitch than normal. Recommend taking rock pegs. Building work going on (not loud) which wasn't a big inconvenience, but would love to see what the new facilities are like, as current bathrooms in need of upgrade.

From the manager: Hi Philippa,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for highlighting so many of the things you enjoyed during your stay, including the views, our pool, the cleanliness of the facilities, the floral displays and the friendly team. We're delighted to hear that these aspects helped make your visit enjoyable.

We appreciate your comments regarding the ground conditions. As you mentioned, much of the country experienced an extended period of exceptionally dry weather this summer, which left the ground much harder than usual. Unfortunately, this can make pitching more challenging on many campsites, particularly in coastal and rocky locations such as ours. We agree that rock pegs are a useful addition during prolonged dry spells.

We're also pleased to hear that the building works caused minimal disruption during your stay. The new facilities currently under construction will be a significant improvement for guests, and we're looking forward to welcoming visitors once they're complete.

Thank you again for your feedback and recommendation. We hope to welcome you back to Morfa Bychan Holiday Park in the future and provide another enjoyable stay by the sea.

Warm regards,
The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park Team

From the manager: Hi Bill,

Thank you for your fantastic 10/10 review and for taking the time to share your feedback.

We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed our clifftop location and were able to spot some of the wonderful wildlife that makes this area so special. Seeing kestrels, buzzards and even dolphins can make a stay truly memorable, and we're pleased you were able to experience that during your visit.

Thank you also for your kind comment describing Morfa Bychan as a good clean family site. Our team takes great pride in maintaining high standards across the park, so it's always rewarding to receive such positive feedback.

We appreciate your comments regarding the access road. As many guests will know, our spectacular coastal location comes with a traditional rural approach road, and while the passing places do help, we understand that it can feel a little narrow at first. Thankfully, most visitors find that the views waiting at the end make the journey worthwhile.

Thank you again for your recommendation and support. We hope to welcome you back to Morfa Bychan Holiday Park again soon.

Warm regards,
The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park Team

From the manager: Hi Stuart,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for choosing to stay with us. We were pleased to see that you enjoyed your visit overall and, more importantly, that you’ll be returning to Morfa Bychan again soon. Returning guests are always greatly appreciated.

One aspect of your review did catch our attention: the cleanliness score. We take enormous pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards across the park, and it's always a little concerning for us when we don't receive full marks in this area. Our team works hard every day to keep the facilities, grounds and accommodation spotless for our guests.

If there were any particular areas that fell short of your expectations, we would be genuinely grateful if you could let us know. Whether it was the amenities, the grounds, or something else entirely, specific feedback helps us investigate and make improvements where needed.

As you're returning soon, we'd especially welcome the opportunity to address any concerns before or during your next stay. Please don't hesitate to speak with the team while you're on site, as we'd much rather resolve any issues there and then and ensure your visit is as enjoyable as possible.

Thank you again for your feedback and continued support. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon and hopefully earning a perfect score across the board next time.

Warm regards,
The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park Team

From the manager: Hi Jenni,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for sharing your feedback following your stay with us. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the sea views, swimming pool, play area and the convenience of having services directly on your pitch. We're also glad you noticed the new shower block currently under construction, which will be a fantastic addition to the park once completed.

We were a little surprised by some of your comments and wanted to offer a little clarification for future guests. The ground beneath our grass pitches is natural soil and stone, not concrete. Following one of the driest spells we've experienced for some time, the ground throughout the region has become extremely hard and compacted, which can sometimes give the impression of pitching onto a much firmer surface than usual.

Regarding check-in times, our arrival time is clearly set from 2pm and is designed to allow our team sufficient time to prepare departing pitches for incoming guests. We find that most guests who arrive from the advertised check-in time are able to access their pitch without delay.

We were also interested by the comment regarding the wind. As a clifftop coastal park, weather conditions can naturally vary from day to day, but during your stay we did not experience any particularly unusual or severe windy periods. Unfortunately, coastal weather is one thing that remains outside our control.

Finally, we're sorry that the park felt less personal than you expected. Morfa Bychan remains an independently owned and family-run holiday park, and our team works hard to provide a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for all of our guests.

Thank you again for your feedback. We appreciate all reviews, both positive and constructive, as they help us continue improving the experience for future visitors.

From the manager: Hi Olivia,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for your 8/10 rating. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the playground and the stunning views during your stay. The coastal scenery is one of the things our guests love most about Morfa Bychan, and we're glad it helped make your visit enjoyable.

We do have to admit we're a little puzzled by the overall score, particularly as no dislikes were mentioned and your comments were positive. We always welcome constructive feedback, as it helps us understand where improvements can be made and how we can make future stays even better for our guests.

Thank you again for choosing Morfa Bychan Holiday Park and for recommending us to others. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and perhaps earn those extra two points next time.

From the manager: Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed the stunning views, the family‑friendly atmosphere and the great location — these are things many of our guests love most about Morfa Bychan.

We did notice your overall score of 5/10, which feels a little surprising given the positive comments you shared. We always encourage guests to have a quick read through our full description before booking, as we try to be very clear and upfront about the layout of the park, the facilities available and the nature of our clifftop setting. A little research beforehand can make a big difference in choosing the right park for each guest’s needs.

We also pride ourselves on maintaining extremely high standards of cleanliness and presentation across the site, so whenever we see a lower score in that area it does catch our attention. Our team works hard every day to keep the park looking its best, and feedback is always appreciated.

Thank you again for your visit — we’re glad you enjoyed the views and facilities, and we hope your next stay will reflect the full experience Morfa Bychan aims to offer.

Disliked Signal service is not the best on EE

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Liam,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and share your feedback.

We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay overall. We appreciate your comments regarding the mobile signal and understand how important reliable connectivity can be while away.

The park management team have used EE for several years and generally find that it provides the strongest coverage, with a good 5G signal available across most areas of the park. During the past couple of weeks, however, the combination of exceptionally hot weather and a significant increase in visitors to the area has occasionally affected network performance, which may explain the issues you experienced.

Thank you again for your feedback. We value all guest comments as they help set expectations for future visitors, and we hope to welcome you back to Morfa Bychan Holiday Park again soon.

Liked Loved the location. There’s a narrow road leading down to the site which might cause you to wonder what awaits given its seeming remoteness. However, everything looks incredibly well cared for with fantastic views across the whole area.
The flowers, shrubs and trees show real care and attention, there are amazing hillside slopes over which red kites and buzzards float and the pitches are set out to maximise the views across the coast.
The amenities were great, clean and accessible, although the showers could run a little longer. However, perhaps that’s not a bad thing with there being drought like conditions this summer.
The children’s play area clearly appealed to the little ones and we were treated to an amazing sunset.

Disliked There has been some delay to a new facility being constructed and that looks out of place in an otherwise immaculate place.

From the manager: Hi Iain,

Thank you for your wonderful 10/10 review and for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your stay with us. We're delighted to hear that you loved our location and enjoyed the spectacular views across the coastline. It's especially pleasing to know that you appreciated the care that goes into maintaining the park's flowers, shrubs and grounds, as our team works hard to keep Morfa Bychan looking its best. We’re also glad you were able to enjoy the local wildlife and one of our famous sunsets during your visit.

We're pleased that you found the facilities clean, accessible and well maintained. Thank you for your comments regarding the shower timers. As you rightly noted, water conservation is becoming increasingly important, particularly during the exceptionally dry conditions we've experienced this summer.

We also appreciate your understanding regarding the new amenities building. Unfortunately, delays outside our control have extended the construction programme, but we're excited about the improvements it will bring once completed. We agree that it will be a welcome addition to complement the high standards found throughout the rest of the park.

Thank you again for your kind words and recommendation. We hope to welcome you back to Morfa Bychan Holiday Park again soon.

Kind regards,
The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park Team

The Wales Coast Path runs through the park and is easily accessible via kissing gates. The path runs for a whopping 870 miles from Chepstow in the south to Queensferry in the north: potter the few miles to Aberystwyth and then – for the energetic – hike further for 10 miles on the linked Ceredigion Coast Path to its finishing point at Ynyslas. Aberystwyth, 15 minutes' drive away, has stacks to do in and out of peak season, including a harbour to wander around, the National Library of Wales and the Aberystwyth Arts Centre for indoor days, and a buzzing nightlife with pubs, gigs and eateries aplenty. The same distance in the other direction will land you at Llanrhystud, a popular spot in summer for beaches, watersports and fishing. Nature spotting and birdwatching are easily accessed in the area too, either under your own steam or via a dolphin and seal safari trip around Cardigan Bay. Ensure your marine mammal sightings – recommended if you possess fractious offspring – with a trip to the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre at New Quay; boat trips can be booked from here too.
