What customers say

Hook Farm is highly praised for its beautiful location, cleanliness, and friendly, helpful staff. Many reviewers highlight the excellent, spotless facilities, including hot showers. The campsite's proximity to Lyme Regis via a scenic riverside walk is a significant draw. Pitches are generally well-spaced and well-maintained. While most feedback is positive, a few guests mentioned the cost of showers and Wi-Fi, and the occasional issue with pitch firmness or proximity to neighbours.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (small)

Liked Well kept and maintained site with great sized, level pitches. Clean toilets and showers. Large site but still felt intimate as pitches were spaced out and on different levels/tree lined spaces. Power showers with hot water. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Useful and well stocked shop on site. Pretty location.

Disliked Nothing to dislike about this site. We would use it again.

Electric grass campervan pitch (maximum 6 metres, medium)

Liked Lovely well kept site with friendly and helpful staff, good location

Disliked Having to pay 20p for shower on a timer, the cost of staying in your own campervan should cover this, it’s the only site that we have stayed on where you have to pay. It’s the principle not the cost.
However it’s a lovely site 👍

From the manager: Thank you for the great review and we hope you can visit again soon.

Yes we are looking into making the shower free.

Warm, friendly and just right for a couple of nights.

Electric grass campervan pitch (maximum 6 metres, medium)

Liked The whole thing was great from start to finish. The reception team are lovely and knowledgeable. The site layout is great, every pitch allocated and personally shown by the team. fantastic bathroom facilities, you will need 20p, but 40p is probably too much!!
The walk into town down the river is an absolute joy, and make sure you pop and have a look at the viaduct too.
Couldn't recommend it enough for a lovely night or two.

From the manager: Thank you so much for the amazing review. We are so pleased that you had a lovely stay and and I will pass on your kind comments to the team. We hope to see you again soon.

Electric grass tent pitch (XL)

Liked Quite site with separated pitches. Beautiful location

Disliked Owners were very strict on rules. Overhead them telling other campers to move their car

From the manager: We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our quiet family owned park.

We do ask campers to be quiet after 10.30pm and to park where shown to maintain privacy and firebreaks between camper's..

Electric grass campervan pitch (maximum 6 metres, medium)

Liked Great site, clean and spacious facilities, nice little shop, 20p for showers is a first, but you get 4 mins which is longer than you think but just don’t forget cash.

Disliked All great apart from it’s the most I’ve paid for one night.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for the great review, our prices are comparable to other parks on The Jurassic coast. We hope you can visit us again.

Local attractions

Dedicated star-gazers can stroll up to Trinity Hill Nature Reserve (45 minutes’ walk), awarded Dark Sky Discovery Site status thanks to its lack of light pollution. Hook Farm is also a handy base camp for walkers in the East Devon Natural Landscape (direct from site), and has ready access to the South West Coast Path (half an hour), while following the East Devon Way (five minutes) gives you a handy riverside shortcut down to the sea. Historic Lyme Regis (five minutes’ drive) is known for the fossils and ammonites found on its sands, and is gateway to the dramatic seascapes of the Jurassic Coast. You can hunt for more ancient treasures on the beach at Charmouth (10 minutes), and wander along the pebble spit at Chesil Beach (50 minutes). The lively (and lovely) seaside town of Beer (20 minutes) has a photogenic fishing harbour and several contemporary art galleries to mooch around, and if the kids are with you, you’ll probably end up at The Donkey Sanctuary (also 20 minutes), where you can feed and cuddle rescue donkeys.
