Hook Farm Campsite

喜欢 So spotlessly clean. I usually get the ick when I use campsite loos and showers, but I must say they were amazingly clean!!!
Great pitch and beautiful scenery. The walk along the river in to Lyme is beautiful, so much so that instead of getting an uber we walked there and back with our two dogs both days. Would definiteley stay again.

不喜欢 I dislike myself for not reading in the info that you need a much longer electric socket than we had from our campervan to hook up, so we couldnt position properly to use our awning. Our fault though.

喜欢 Nice pitch with great views. Good clean facilities, friendly and well organised. Pub in easy walking range and great walk down to Lyme.

不喜欢 We had a really disappointing experience at Hook farm campsite. We booked a grass electric pitch through Pitchup, making sure to follow the information provided there about what type of van was allowed. When we arrived, we were told our van didn’t meet their requirements even though on Pitchup there was nothing to say this. The most annoying part is they checked us is, showed us to our pitch, watched us park and saw fully what my van was and they waiting until after we were set up to come back and tell us we had to leave in the morning.

What made it worse was that the staff looked at the Pitchup listing in front of us to prove us wrong and ended up having to agree the information was unclear or incorrect. Despite acknowledging that, they still asked us to leave and didn’t offer any alternative solution, flexibility, or help to resolve the situation. After a long journey, being turned away like that was incredibly frustrating and stressful.

After writing a review on google the owner responded still stating that pitch up have their websites t&c’s linked which after checking again, they do not.

Our insurance does not cover us for guests sleeping in vans and you had booked for a campervan. We have two new members of staff who did not realise until after pitching that you were sleeping in a van and had not brought a campervan.

They did then speak to you and explained that you were welcome to stay the night but would need to leave in the morning.

We refunded you for the remainder two nights and suggested another park. We have also asked pitch up to make it clearer.

Again sorry for any inconvenience.

喜欢 This is a lovely peaceful campsite - facilities are immaculate; pitches are spacious and we could not fault a thing.
We originally booked for 3 nights but ended up staying an extra night. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed the glorious river walk into Lyme Regis.
The Indian takeaway van was a bonus and was very good.
We particularly enjoyed the field right next to the campsite where the dogs were able to roam free and have a good run.
Will be back. Truly lovely campsite.
Ignore any negative comments from other reviews - there’s nothing to fault.

喜欢 Super clean toilets and showers. Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet site (April) and a dog walk directly off the site into a field and beyond. Lovely riverside walk to Lyme Regis and busses run from just down from the bottom of the short hill. 20p for a 4 minute shower, which is plenty long enough and the water was hot. Would be happy to return.

不喜欢 The internet was slow causing buffering and disconnection. Occasionally it was good, but never fast. Couldn't get a TV signal either so we listened to a lot of radio. At £4.20 per night for a dog I'd say that was a bit steep as they don't use any facilities except for the poo bin.

Our internet service is free, unfortunately there were recent issues with our internet provider which affected the village. This has now been resolved.

喜欢 Well spaced out pitches with a large grass area to use. Sunny , peaceful site with lots of bird song. Public footpath from the site. 10 mins walk to the pub. 1 1/2 mile walk along a good path by the river into Lyme Regis and coast path. Micro brewery at the end of the path. Loved it!
Really friendly staff. Pop up Indian on the Saturday night, perfect after a long walk.
Clean spacious facilities.
