Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (premium)

Liked Lovely quiet pitches at the top of the site fully serviced. Well stocked shop and friendly staff. Very suited to families but less so to a couple who are happy with more basic facilities.

Disliked Although the local walks are beautiful it is a bit of a trek down narrow roads to get there. We were told there is nowhere to walk directly from the site

Electric grass pitch

Liked The pool was great.
Lovely flat pitches.
Toilets and showers also lovely.

Disliked Although the toilet block is lovely we felt that a toilet/dish washing area would be useful down at the bottom field as it was quite a walk with the dishes.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Clean and cosy surroundings; food available to buy and well-stocked shop; pool; clean toilets; friendly staff; late check-in.

Disliked Shower head fixed and tends to spray into the section where clothes hang. Pitch 45 is right next to the main path of foot traffic.

Electric grass pitch

Liked It’s clean and well kept.

Disliked Welcome wasn’t great. Quite rude the man at desk when we first arrived. The pitches are not numbered properly, not all are level and they are very closed to each other. Very few electric points (4) per row so if you don’t have a very very long extension you are in trouble. The staff was polite but the man at desk spoil our stay. Made us feel uncomfortable so not what you expect on your holiday. The swimming pool is quite small.

Local attractions

The site's fishing lake is well stocked with carp – just ask for Jim and he'll tell you all their names... Twelve Oaks Farm Caravan Park also lies halfway along the Templer Way Heritage Trail, a walking route that uses a mixture of rights of way, permissive routes and minor roads to link the seaside town of Teignmouth to Haytor on Dartmoor. The Stover Canal, which was once used to transport granite from the moors to the harbour, is also a short stroll from the park. The woodland, grassland, heathland, marsh and lake areas of the 114-acre Stover Country Park, designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, is half an hour's walk away. The park has a visitor centre, an aerial walkway, a bird hide and picnic areas. Also running through the country park is the Stover Trail – a traffic-free cycling route that connects Newton Abbot to Bovey Tracey, extending towards Lustleigh and Moretonhampstead in Dartmoor National Park.
