  • Family park one mile from Dawlish Warren beach
  • A 35-minute drive from Torquay; pubs within walking distance
  • Indoor swimming pool, adventure playground, soft play, gym and sauna
Staying just a mile away from Dawlish Warren beach sounds pretty neat, doesn't it? Lady’s Mile Holiday has a splendid location on the Devon coast, and what's more, it also has a reel of very tempting facilities… For one, there is a splendid indoor swimming pool for a morning of backstroke or splashing around. During high season, an additional outdoor swimming pool opens up for open-air dips (as long as the weather is good enough). After a nice swim, guests can stay well-fed and well-watered at the on-site restaurant and bar. There are plenty of ways to keep the kids entertained around the park too, from an adventure playground and soft play to the evening entertainment that takes place from March to November. There's a gym on site if you fancy keeping up your workout streak. Otherwise, you're very welcome to laze by the pool or in the sauna instead. For quick dinners, the site has a takeaway. As for other facilities, there are also showers and bathrooms, including a parent and baby washroom. Looking for local eats? There are pubs within a mile's wander of the site, which might prove to be the motivation you need to get off the oh-so-splendid grounds...

Electric grass pitch

Liked The staff are all super friendly and always happy. The food is really tasty and good value for money. The pitch we stayed on was massive, loads of room for our caravan Elvis, a full awning, windbreaker and the truck. The pitches are well maintained

Disliked I think the only thing we were disgruntled about was the paid wifi. It was pretty shocking. Kept chucking us off and the signal was quite bad, especially in the evenings.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review Suzanne! 💙 We’re so pleased you found our team friendly and welcoming and enjoyed the food and your spacious pitch – it certainly sounds like there was plenty of room for Elvis and all the extras! 😊🚐

We’re sorry to hear the Wi-Fi let you down, particularly as you had paid for the service. Our Wi-Fi is provided and managed by an external company, but we completely understand how frustrating an unreliable connection can be. We’ll make sure your comments regarding the signal and frequent disconnections are fed back to the provider.

It’s wonderful to hear you’d recommend us and visit again, and we look forward to welcoming you and Elvis back to Lady’s Mile! 💙

Liked Lovely well kept site. Affordable facilities on site and well stocked shop. Free indoor and outdoor swimming, free small indoor soft play and a really good play park for kids too. Will definitely go back

Disliked Could do with pedestrian/zebra crossings on parts of the site particularly by the swimming pools area and the outdoor play park. Could also do with some form of speed management as some people drove as if they were on a main road

From the manager: Thank you Gareth for your lovely review and for recommending us! 💙 We’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay and found the park well kept, with plenty of affordable facilities for the whole family. It’s great to hear the pools, soft play, play park and shop were all a hit! 😊

We really appreciate your comments regarding vehicle speeds and pedestrian safety around the park. We completely understand your concern, particularly around busy areas such as the swimming pools and play park. Guest safety is extremely important to us, and we’ll make sure your suggestions are passed on to our management team for consideration.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback, and we’re delighted to hear you’ll be returning. We look forward to welcoming you back! 💙

Liked Nice site, kept quite clean. Good shop.

Disliked Taps and showers. could be a lot cleaner, the taps would go off as soon as you press the tap so washing your hands properly were a pain, showers were very low pressure and were going off shortly after pressed too, same with the wash basins.
Really dislike this on sites and the toilet facility are very important to camping and touring guests. outdoor seating could be better covered, the facility was there but when raining you had to find staff to ask them to put the cover over which seems silly, staff should be on the ball with this.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback Richard. 😊

We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed the park, found it well maintained overall and were happy with our on-site shop.

We appreciate your comments regarding the taps, showers and wash basins. We understand how important good-quality washing facilities are to our touring and camping guests, and your feedback regarding the push-button timings, water pressure and cleanliness has been acknowledged.

Thank you also for your comments regarding the covered outdoor seating. We appreciate your point that this could be managed proactively when the weather changes.

It’s great to see that you would still recommend us and visit again, and we hope to welcome you back to Lady’s Mile in the future. 💙

Liked The playground is okay.

Disliked We stayed at Lady’s Mile Holiday Park from Friday to Sunday over the bank holiday weekend, and unfortunately our experience was very disappointing.

On Friday night, from around 10pm, there were extremely loud arguments and fighting between different families on the campsite. It went on for hours and we barely managed to sleep. We hoped it was just a one-off, but Saturday night was even worse. There was more fighting between campers, this time becoming much more aggressive and violent, and the noise continued until around 2am.

What concerned us most was that there seemed to be no intervention or control from management. It honestly felt as though there were no proper nighttime rules being enforced. We were camping with children and did not feel safe or comfortable staying there.

The toilet and shower facilities were also very disappointing. They were dirty and did not feel properly cleaned or sanitised — it seemed as though they had simply been rinsed with water.
We had paid around £240 for three nights, but because of how uncomfortable and unsafe we felt, we decided to leave on Sunday morning instead of staying until Monday.

For that price, especially on a bank holiday weekend, we expected a much better standard of cleanliness, security and management. Unfortunately, based on our experience, it was not worth the money and we would not return

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback Maureen. We’re very sorry to hear that your Bank Holiday stay did not meet your expectations.

We are particularly concerned to hear about the behaviour and noise you describe. We expect all guests to behave respectfully and observe our nighttime rules, and our security team are available to respond to incidents reported during the night. We would always encourage guests to contact the team at the time so that concerns can be investigated and dealt with appropriately.

We’re also disappointed to hear your comments regarding the toilet and shower facilities. Our facilities are cleaned regularly throughout the day, and any issues brought to our attention can be addressed by our housekeeping team.

Bank Holiday weekends are amongst our busiest periods and our prices reflect the demand at these peak times, along with the facilities and entertainment available across the park. However, we appreciate that the experience you have described was not what you expected from your stay.

We’re sorry that you chose to leave a day early and would not be recommending us or visiting again.

Thank you again for your feedback.

We’re delighted to hear that you found your stay excellent overall and that you would recommend us and visit again.

We appreciate your comments regarding the difference in price compared with another family. Our prices can vary depending on a number of factors, including when the booking was made, dates of stay, pitch type and any offers available at the time of booking, so two similar bookings will very rarely be the same price.

Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back to Lady’s Mile soon. 💙

Liked Very disappointing and definitely not worth the price. We paid over £230 for three nights during the bank holiday. The campsite was overcrowded, the facilities were old, and the swimming pool was tiny.

The pitches were very steep and uneven, making it difficult to pitch our tent properly or even place our tables on a level surface. It was also very noisy at night, with people shouting and arguing and groups of teenagers gathering around the site. Some were messing around in the toilets and trying to scare people, which made us feel uncomfortable.

Far too expensive for the quality and experience. We wouldn’t stay again.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback Sze.

We’re sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. Your booking was for four people over three nights making it just over £19 per person per night for the Bank Holiday weekend, which is naturally one of our busiest periods of the year.

We’re concerned to hear about the noise and behaviour you experienced, particularly around the toilet facilities. We do ask all guests to respect others, and our security team are available to deal with any disruptive behaviour when it is reported to us.

Lady’s Mile has both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, and we believe both pools are adequately sized for the park and provide an enjoyable facility for our guests. Naturally, during peak periods such as Bank Holiday weekends, these facilities can be particularly popular.

Our grass pitches vary across the park, with some areas flatter than others, and guests are able to choose their preferred available pitch on arrival.

We appreciate your feedback and are disappointed to hear that, despite indicating you would recommend us and visit again, your comments suggest you would not return.

Lady’s Mile is a site for the sea and sand fans, as it’s only a mile from two beaches where you can surf, swim, sail or just unwind. Golf, fishing, horse riding and tennis are all nearby, or you could indulge in a spot of culture and wander around the nearby National Trust properties A la Ronde (35 minutes' drive) and Compton Castle (35 minutes). Want something a little more likely to appeal to the kids? Pack them in the car and take them off to Crealy Great Adventure Park (25 minutes), where they can go gaga on the rides or go wild in the indoor jungle. They might also enjoy seeing the famous black swans along the River Dawlish, bumping along on the seafront railway, or just sticking close to the beach resort with its pirate-themed mini golf, go-karting, amusements and rides.
