General

  • Award-winning family park close to Dawlish Warren
  • Indoor and outdoor pool, adventure playground, soft play, gym, sauna
  • Well-maintained shower and loo blocks

It’s an award winner, and it’s easy to see why – Devon’s Lady’s Mile near the Blue Flag beaches of Dawlish Warren has all that’s needed for ladies and gentlemen to pitch up. It’s had cracking reviews and full marks for location, cleanliness, facilities, customer service and more, and also has five-star scores for value for money.

And there’s more – Lady’s Mile also has an indoor and outdoor pool, an on-site restaurant, a bar, fab play areas for the kids including an adventure playground and soft play area, evening entertainment to croon along to, a takeaway and even a gym if you feel like working the calories off (or you could just decide to relax by the pool or in the sauna instead).

The showers and bath on site are fit for even the most ladylike lady, and there’s also a parent and baby washroom to keep the holiday grub off the smaller campers. Wifi access is available.

Whether you’re off site during your stay is another matter, although there are two pubs within a mile which might prove to be the motivation you need...

Amazing facilities and entertainment for the kids they loved each and every moment of the entire stay even though the weather wasn't great, still loads to keep them occupied. Great food available and all staff were lovely and accommodating.

    Disliked:

Only downside was the gym was closed due to a sewage leak.

    Swimming pools

    Disliked:

We arrived on Thursday 17th August excited about our stay but that soon dwindled. I found the maintenance staff miserable & rude when they were having to repeatedly fix a problem with the hot water (which we hardly had) no jolly Hello just a grunt & said 'MOVE'.

The pitch sizes are shockingly small, it was like walking through a shanty town of windbreaks & a mass of parked cars no space for children to cycle or play safely!

There was the smell of cannabis when you walked around too, parents sitting drinking booze in the children's park not a classy place at all. There was a pallet truck unattended in the splash pool.

The showers were poor & really did smell rotten, water taps for drinking were in with the overflowing bins & water disposal.

Our pitch was on a quite slope & it rained while we were there. We were actually relieved of being so far away from the pools as the pitches further down were flooded and in pools of mud! Such a shame with the points above as it could be an excellent place to stay with the amenities they have as they were excellent

Clean and tidy and very friendly reception staff. Nothing was too much trouble.

    Disliked:

Steep hills to walk to the beach was not explained. Evening entertainment could only be heard clearly by half of the room. The campsite is too big but cannot cater for that amount of people during busy periods. Queues of at least 20 people at the bar just to get drinks. I nearly got run over by a child on a bike that was using the outdoor pool as a roundabout. This could be avoided by having some sort of chicanes barrier outside the pool to prevent the children doing this and ultimately stopping them running out into the road.

    Not much!

    Disliked:

The pitches were far to close together, there was nowhere for the children to run, play ball or ride bikes. For the majority of our stay there was no hot water for washing up. People were smoking weed on the site.

Local attractions

Lady’s Mile is a site for the sea and sand lovers, as it’s only a mile from two beaches where you can surf, swim, sail or just laze and sunbathe.

Golf, fishing, horse riding and tennis are all nearby, or you could indulge in a spot of culture and wander around the nearby National Trust properties A la Ronde and Compton Castle.

Want something a little more likely to appeal to the kids? Pack them in the car and take them off to Crealy Great Adventure Park a short drive away, where they can go gaga on the rides or go wild in the indoor jungle.

They’ll also enjoy seeing the famous black swans along the Dawlish river, bumping along on the seafront railway, or just sticking close to the beach resort with its pirate-themed mini golf, go-karting, amusements and children’s rides.
