General

  • Lively park open all year round
  • A great base for exploring the best of Devon and south-east Cornwall
  • Top-notch selection of on-site activities and local attractions

‘We’re all going on a summer holiday…’ And a spring, autumn and, er, winter one too…At Tencreek Holiday Park, the nearest park to lovely Looe in Cornwall, you and the family can pitch up at any time of year to use this as your base for the best of south-east Cornwall and Devon, or just stay on site to spoil yourselves silly with the lashings of facilities and entertainment on offer for all ages. And the views here are pretty tenfastic too…

Tencreek is aimed at families and couples, and as such has any number of tiptop things to try on site: there’s a kids’ club and the Castaway entertainment complex with its large cabaret room, bar, Deano’s Diner and indoor sports room with darts, pool, skittles and table tennis, family entertainment every night from 730pm from the Yellow Coats and Tencreek mascots, and an adventure playground and sports pitch for the kids to whirl around outside when the weather’s good. Don’t forget the dog either: the park is dog friendly and there’s a dog walking area adjacent to the main pitches and with access to the public footpath.

If it does rain, we think the kids won’t even notice once you get them to the heated indoor pool and toddlers’ pool, which are also open all year and free to use (there are classes such as Aquafit and kids’ swimming lessons available at a small additional charge). The thoughtful folk at Tencreek have ensured that the pool is always lifeguarded, and there are even adults-only sessions at times, if you can manage to get the kids dried off and packed off for a bit, that is…

The individually marked pitches at Tencreek are hardstanding or grass with a choice of electric hook-up when available; most are level with good drainage, and accessed by a hard surfaced or tarmac road with street lighting. The amenities are top-notch: new toilet and shower facilities with underfloor heating and free hot water, a disabled wet room and covered washing up areas. The park also has a fully-stocked food shop, café with takeaway and a modern laundry.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

The indoor swimming pool is open between 01/01 and 31/12.

Swimming pool, loverly views, nice hard standing, clean toilets

    Disliked:

Restaurant closed, clubhouse closed. Booked this short break after reading the web site was just what we were looking for couple of nights away no cooking a few drinks and no driving. Only found out about the bar and restaurant being closed when we went to try it the person I spoke told me clubhouses and restaurant closed last weekend and will not be open till just before Christmas very disappointed that the closing of main facilities was not mention on web site and nothing mentioned on my arrival. Expensive weekend £48 for use of electricity and swimming pool cheaper to have stayed at home and gone to local swimming baths

From the manager...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you liked the lovely views from our park, the pool and the clean toilets. We are sorry to hear the clubhouse being closed let your stay down. We will be passing this on to the Park Management Team.

We had a fantastic week which included Halloween. It was made even better by the fact we had fantastic weather. The site is very clean and the shower and toilets were clean and plentiful one of the best I have seen. The coastal walks were directly from the site and were very safe and the views were spectacular. the staff at the site were very friendly and happy to help and they were great with the kids for halloween. The pool is on the small side but it was fine for our kids they had a great time. I would definitely go back again.

Close to Looe. A bit of a hilly walk but well worth it.

    Disliked:

Resembled the battle of the Somme with trench boards to get to your caravan / tent ect. The girl at reception said the walk into town was 1mile at 20 min. It was more like 2.5M at 50 min. Didn’t like the “under one roof” facilities. I suppose you can listen to the people washing up while passing a movement.

Very friendly and easygoing staff and when I got myself stuck on the pitch as it was so wet, the chap came with his Land Rover very quickly and was really friendly, didn't make me feel like an idiot, and said he was around all weekend if I had any more trouble.
The pool was good and as promised.
    Didn't venture into the entertainment.
Toilets and showers were always clean.
    Showers were good and hot.
Good location for Talland Bay (if you like a walk).

Directions

Follow the A38 from the Tamar Bridge and after approximately 10 miles, at the roundabout turn left. Following the Looe road signs, turn right onto the A387. Keep on this road which becomes the B3253. Travel through Looe town over the bridge and up the hill towards Polperro. We’re on the left 1.25 miles from Looe bridge.

Route from Plymouth avoiding Looe - quieter route advised during busy times and if towing:

Take the A38 past Liskeard. Just after Dobwalls take the second exit (A390) at Twelve Woods roundabout. Just past East Taphouse turn left onto the B3359 until the Trelawne/Polperro junction. Turn left towards Looe (A387) and we situated just along on the right hand side.

Local attractions

Once you’ve dragged yourself and yours off site, there are oodles of activities and attractions to get stuck into nearby: pootle around Looe’s Harbour Quay, Banjo Pier and the sixteenth century Old Guildhall in East Looe, or take a boat to Looe (St George’s) Island, where just once a year on a very low tide it’s possible to stroll across the sand to reach it.

Sea-based sightseers can go from Looe to the town of Fowey and take the ferry to the villages of Polruan or Bodinnick where there’s the former house of Daphne du Maurier (Daphne and Rebecca fans can also go ghost hunting at Cornwall’s legendary coaching house at Bodmin Moor, said to be the county’s most famous smuggling inn).

Most day trippers take a car for the 12 mile Looe-Fowey journey, but if you’re feeling energetic enough and want to see some stunning coastal scenery, the South West Coast Path goes from West Looe to Polruan via Hannafore, Talland Bay and Polperro. We officially give you full permission to get a bus or taxi back.

Famous Cornish attractions within easy reach of Tencreek include the biggest indoor rainforest in the world at the Eden Project, the Georgian Pencarrow House and the ‘Cornish jewel’ The Lost Gardens of Heligan, while little monkeys will enjoy pulling faces at the inhabitants of Looe's Monkey Sanctuary, hurtling around at Flambards Theme Park and staring at the seahorses and sharks at Plymouth's National Marine Museum.
