General
- Scenic three-acre site for peaceful escapes in the South Downs
- A 20-minute drive to the south coast; 40 minutes to Brighton
- A few minutes' walk from a waterfall and a mile from Storrington
This friendly site is spacious, peaceful and at the foot of the South Downs – what more could you want from a West Sussex escape? Little Rock Cottage Camping and Glamping is a rural three-acre field shared with lots of wildlife, including deer, foxes, badgers, herons and buzzards.
All in all, it’s just the place for walking holidays in the wilds of West Sussex. There’s access from the site to a footpath for wanders through the Fryern Dell woodland (a five-minute stroll) with its fallen trees, pretty stream and small waterfall; a couple of play parks are also within ambling distance. You can also follow this path straight into the local village of Storrington for access to a café, shops and pubs.
If you'd rather drive, Storrington is five minutes away by road, and main traffic routes, buses and trains (Pulborough station is 10 minutes away) are easy to access, meaning it's a cinch to get out and explore the area's many attractions.
On return after days out pottering along the South Downs Way (10 minutes) or in the pretty villages and handsome National Trust houses nearby, settle in to watch one of the stunning sunsets that regularly grace the sky at this special site – you might even be lucky enough to see a red kite.
A good night's sleep is possible after relaxed evenings as there’s a no-noise policy post-11pm.

Local attractions
Serious walkers have the gorgeous traffic-free South Downs Way within a 10-minute drive, while for active times on the water there's canoe and kayak hire in peaceful surroundings down the road at Pulborough (10 minutes; parking available at the station). If you're interested in mountain bike hire, a dinosaur play area for the kids and more watersports opportunities, Southwater Country Park (20 minutes) is within easy reach as well.
For something just a little less active, there's Steyning village (20 minutes) with its independent shops, St. Mary's House and Gardens (20 minutes) with its lovingly landscaped grounds and Petworth House and Park (30 minutes), a Grade I-listed country manor with 900 years of history to discover.
Staying on a historical theme, you could continue through the countryside to Arundel (20 minutes), home to a spectacular medieval castle, a cathedral, a wetlands centre and a boating lake. Chichester (half an hour) has similar vibes with its cathedral close, art galleries and cobbled streets, while Brighton (40 minutes) is unlikely to disappoint with its iconic Pavilion, seafront, pier and Volk's Electric Railway.
