General

  • Friendly family park less than a mile from Shanklin
  • Indoor and outdoor pools, playground, bar and restaurant
  • Live entertainment all year at sister park next door

If you’re looking for a smallish holiday park in a quieter and relaxed location, but with easy access to a good range of facilities, have a little look at Landguard Holiday Park on the Isle of Wight.

This friendly site, set in pretty woodland, has its own outdoor and indoor pools (plus curly-whirly slide), a good playground and activity clubs for children up to the age of 11, amusements, a bar, restaurant and takeaway.

Venture off site to the nearby seaside resort of Shanklin (less than one mile away) for sandy beaches, arcades, and entertainment aplenty.

In peak season, there are family shows in the evenings in the Jesters Club: at quieter times, guests have access to Landguard’s sister site next door, Lower Hyde Holiday Park, which has live entertainment all year.

Swimming Facilities and activities were a great option. Bar and evening entertainment were very good. Wash facilities were clean, pitch size was very spacious, great location. Staff were all very friendly and helpful

    Disliked:

Bar and food prices and cost to use Launderette were very high. Large group were put right next us for the last few nights when the whole site was practically empty, very noisy until early hours, ruined the last couple of nights for us

We really enjoyed our week stay here in Landguard. Staff were always around to help if needed. Everything felt so relaxed. The clubhouse is really decent as with the indoor and outdoor pools. The toilets and showers are regularly cleaned, however they are in desperate need of updating. Overall good stay and would come back.

Staff were really hard working, helpful and friendly
The pools were great, clean and not overly busy

    Disliked:

It was very noisy until about 11-12 at night which didn’t bother us but some people may not like this. Showers were not very good but they were free.
The restaurant sold out of many options and was not very good quality or variety for vegetarian food

Nice relaxed environment, prefer the quieter Landguard but brilliant you can also use Lower Hydes facilities too which are much bigger.

Showers/toilets could do with updating, but work well all the same.

Lovely, friendly campsite with large spacious pitches set amongst trees. The road up to the campsite is quite narrow and bumpy and you need to be mindful of vehicles coming in the opposite direction ad there are only a couple of passing places. The facilities on the campsite are dated but the showers were hot and cleaned regularly as were the toilets. We didn't use the pools but plenty of other families did. The site is a good base for exploring the nearby beaches which are beautiful. 2 minute drive to Aldi or Morrisons to pick up supplies.

We had a nice man give us our pitch and clubhouse passes and didn’t see any one else in the 4 days we were there no one came to see if all was ok During the stay toilet facilities ie mens and woman’s were very dirty slippery when they had left a dirty mop with filthy dirty water for anyone to mop up all day and also when taking a shower there was four showers which two of them was out of order for the whole four days we were there so the whole campsite had to share two showers ie female ones which was just a trickle with pushbutton which soon as you let go stopped the shower itself was a slippery filthy dirty And you couldn’t not wash properly the shower and toilet block need updating my husband and I used a Disabled shower together because the shower itself was a proper shower but still the floor had not been touched in four days it had hair toothbrush tops sink Filthy dirty.and behind our tent it was very had to plug our mains in as it was over grown with Stinging nettles as we got stung four times.also the rd coming into camp site rd had lifted up so very dangerous for car to go over camping it’s self was good but Unfortunately we will not be going there again as Campsite next door lower hide campsite is a lot better as we went and viewed it thanks
