Electric gravel touring pitch
Liked Close to home. Decent size pitches
Disliked There was no WiFi available as it was not working and the phone signal was poor.
Also there was a large section of woodland closed off.

Would stay again with bigger group but would prefer to pick the pitch.
Electric grass pitch
Liked Staff were very friendly and polite. Facilities were kept clean
Disliked I prefer to pick my own pitch and not be allocated, the pitch we had was right in the open I prefer to have a mix of sun and shade but only had sun constantly as a result the fridge we had struggled as no shade for tent at all. Also the toilets seemed to run out to toilet paper regularly. Male showers when in use became very slippery I nearly fell over twice.

What was once a brilliant resort has been left in a desperate state.
Electric grass pitch
Liked All of our group being placed in the same field together. The front of house staff (Dale and Emma) were very friendly and, after we complained, were proactive in making any changes that they could, as well as checking in with us after they’d rectified issues. The facilities were noticeably cleaner after we’d complained and they began pumping the drainage system, although it appeared to be severely backed up and smelt horrendous. I felt really sorry for the staff, they really were trying their best. I’ve noted the issues with the site below, however, I need to point out that we did receive precise apologies and a full refund.
Disliked Cost and Value
* Paid £50 per night for a pitch consisting of a patch of grass and an electric hook-up. Given the standard of the facilities available on site, this felt extremely expensive and does not represent good value for money. (We were given a full refund)
Toilets and Shower Facilities
* The same third light in the women’s bar toilets was out, as was the case at this time last year, suggesting that basic maintenance issues are not being addressed. (This was fixed after we complained)
* Toilets are regularly blocked, often on a daily basis. (They started to try and rectify this after we’d complained, but it didn’t seem to be a straightforward fix)
* Basic toilet provisions, such as toilet roll, are not consistently replenished.
* A significant number of toilet and shower cubicles have been screwed shut and are therefore unavailable for use.
* Our main toilet facilities that were next to the bar were left in an unacceptable condition after evening events. They were often still not cleaned by the following day, with used sanitary products, false nails and other waste left behind for more than 24 hours. (They were cleaned thoroughly after we complained)
* The showers are extremely inconsistent, with poor water pressure and temperatures that can become dangerously hot. (They were unfortunately cold after we’d pointed this out)
* The shower facilities themselves are also unsafe in places, with cracked tiles presenting a potential injury hazard.
* 50% of the taps in the men’s toilet don’t work.
* The general cleanliness of this site is extremely poor.
Sewage, Hygiene and Water
* There is a distinct and persistent smell of raw sewage throughout the site, particularly concentrated around the restaurant. This is extremely unpleasant and raises potential hygiene and health and safety concerns.
* There is a lack of clear signage identifying where drinking water is available, making it unnecessarily difficult for visitors to locate safe drinking water.
Site Maintenance and Safety
* There is dangerous/unsafe equipment in the woodland area that requires attention.
* There appears to be inadequate checking and maintenance of pitches between guests. Despite there being a two-hour crossover period between check-out and check-in, there are numerous tent pegs left in the ground, suggesting that pitches are not being properly inspected after guests leave. We even had to remove a dead rodent from our pitch ourselves.
Hopefully, now that the resort has been bought by Landall, they will put some money into it and restore it to its former glory.

Another wonderful stay at Marwell.
Electric grass pitch
Liked Pitches are spacious, plenty of room for a large gazebo inbetween our tents and one car per pitch. Additional parking available if needs be.
Onsite shop was well stocked, and facilities cleaned regularly. Staff were friendly, as always.
We were able to camp alongside our friends and the kids had plenty of room to play and opportunities to make new friends.
Check out was 10am but the staff were understanding of the change in weather and we vacated shortly after.
This was our 5th stay, and we will certainly be back again.
Disliked Some of the amenities could do with an upgrade/maintenance but this never affects our stay.

Really disappointed, not returning.
Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Communication from booking to arrival good.
Very helpful and friendly reception staff.
We didn't use any of other onsite facilities.
Disliked Toilets and showers really dirty.
Washing up area not clean, sinks blocked.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Bar area is good and the walk through the woods and around the fishing lake was lovely
Disliked Pitch size was good BUT very close to neighbouring campers about 1m gap a total fire hazard . Other campsites I’ve been to have a 6m rule . Staff didnt seem concerned about how close tents and motorhomes were .
Was given a site map but nothing on it to show where to get drinking water from and Elson point . No grey waste disposal point on site .
Shower block near the bar needs updating and toilets very tight , knees touch the doors when sitting down .
Better shower/toilet block near the Elson point but no mops to clean up after so all shower floor really dirty .

Activities for the children. Music entertainment…
Electric grass pitch
Liked Activities for the children. Music entertainment on Saturday evening. Availability (though not price) of pizzas.
Disliked Guest WiFi wasn’t working throughout our stay.
Water pressure was very weak in shower block and drinking water refill meaning it was often only a dribble.
Limited toilet facilities for number of campers. The male toilet block has only 4 toilets, one of which was repeatedly blocked and another with a door lock that was broken. The toilets had no toilet paper until the daily refill and the whole toilet block was generally dirty and uncared for.
We were a family group with 2 young children and our neighbouring pitch had half a dozen or so 18 year olds celebrating their A level results until the early hours. More careful and appropriate allocation of camping pitches would have meant we could have got some sleep.
The prices of the thin medium sized stone baked pizzas, which incidentally were very nice, was excessive. A meat feast with jalapeños costing £17 each.
Likewise charging £7 for a round of crazy golf was expensive.
