  • Rural dog-friendly adults-only site in Sherfield English
  • Half an hour's drive from Salisbury and 10 minutes from the New Forest
  • Cosy country pub within a 15-minute stroll
To Hampshire for a holiday in a rather relaxed kid-free spot? Meadow Tree Farm is a nearly-wild site with basic facilities on a working beef farm. Friendly and adults-only, it is spread over 21 acres on the edge of the village of Sherfield English, about 10 minutes' drive from Romsey. There's plenty of space for you (and any doggie companions you may have brought along) to chill out on site and, most importantly, a cosy country pub a gentle 15-minute stroll away. Fishing lakes are next door and there are fab trails for ramblers and cyclists a few miles away in the New Forest National Park. Back at base the laidback vibe is preserved by keeping facilities to a minimum, but the essentials are all in place, including toilets, showers and a washing-up area. Sounds good? You'd better be quick: Meadow Tree Farm is a pop-up site that's only open for a limited amount of time each year.

Non-electric forest floor tent pitch

Liked: Liked it being adults only and being able to choose anywhere to pitch up. Loved that you could have fire pits/bbqs

Disliked: 3 unisex toilets and 1 shower. Which were absolutely filthy. The lock on the shower didn’t work. No car movement from 10PM. Not being able to have the car near the tent.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked: There was plenty of space for everyone staying there and it was in a beautiful setting. Basic amenities, but fully functional. Hoping the proprietor gets the planning permission they seek as it will elevate the business. Would definitely use again.

Non-electric forest floor tent pitch

Liked: There was no strict rules on where to pitch your tent and plenty of little alcoves to pitch up in a private large space. No fuss, no frills with an element of wild camping about it! The owner was really welcoming and friendly also.

Disliked: Nothing!

Electric forest floor tent pitch (woodland)

Liked: The owner greated us on arrival and was very friendly and informative of local area. Site is very relaxed. If you are tent camping you will be in the woods. If you require hook up make sure you have plenty of cable. Adults only site but with plenty of room so noise was never a problem from other campers.

Disliked: Could have done with more electrical hook up points. Toilet and shower block very basic. Could have done with additional showers. If you camp near the farm you may hear some noise in the evening but not too bad.
