We're sorry that some aspects of your stay didn't meet your expectations. As a nearly wild campsite, the touring van area is intentionally kept more natural than a traditional caravan park, although we do continually maintain it and appreciate your comments.

Our toilet and shower facilities are clearly advertised as basic, and while they are older, they are cleaned three times a day and are kept clean, functional and fully usable. We appreciate that they may not suit everyone's expectations.

The woodland camping area is reserved for tents only to protect the woodland environment and tree roots, which is why vehicles and campervans are not permitted there.

Regarding the pub, unfortunately its closure was outside of our control. We are in the process of updating all references to nearby amenities to reflect the latest local changes.

Gostou Absolutely lovely place. Quiet, different spaces to camp. I camped right by the lake.
Toilet and shower are basic but you are camping that's all you need.
The lady who owns the campsite was really friendly, nothing was too much trouble.
Recommend the tea rooms up the road cakes are amazing after a long walk

Gostou Nice wooded area, lots of tables to sit at, owner was very friendly and helpful on arrival.

Não gostou The toilets and shower area was filthy. It wasn't just from being busy, there was built up grime aswell. Also, I've never had this before but I had either rats or mice under/around my tent. The first day they were under my tent and then I got woken up at 3am on the second night to them inside my tent (luckily not in the sleeping pod bit). I didn't have any food out as it was all inside my sealed cool box so can't blame it on having food out.

I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the facilities and wildlife during your stay. Our toilet and shower facilities are cleaned and checked three times daily, and I regularly walk around the site speaking with guests to ensure everyone is comfortable and enjoying their stay. During your visit, no concerns regarding cleanliness or wildlife were raised with me at any point, despite you remaining on site for the full duration of your 2 night booking. Had any issues been brought to my attention, I would have investigated and addressed them immediately.

Regarding the animals around your tent, as a working farm we operate a strict vermin control programme across the site and farmyard. As a result, it is highly unlikely that these would have been rats or mice. Given the location you describe, particularly in the woodland area furthest from the farmyard, it is far more likely that they were rabbits or other small wild animals which are commonly found in the surrounding countryside.

As a rural, woodland-based campsite, encounters with wildlife are an inevitable part of the countryside experience. However, we take all reports seriously and would always encourage guests to speak to us during their stay so that we have the opportunity to investigate and help.

I do feel that a rating of 3/10 is somewhat harsh given that our facilities, site layout, and overall camping experience are clearly described and illustrated in our listing, including photographs and numerous guest reviews. As such, the nature of the site should not have come as a surprise.

You stayed for the full duration of your booking and did not raise any concerns with me during your stay, despite me being visible around the site throughout the weekend. Had any issues been brought to my attention, I would have done my best to address them.

Regarding cleanliness, the toilet and shower facilities are cleaned three times daily. No concerns about their condition were reported during your stay. While the facilities are admittedly basic and somewhat dated, they are maintained to be clean, functional, and fit for purpose. Feedback from other guests staying that weekend was overwhelmingly positive.

Meadow Tree Farm is a semi-wild, rural farm campsite designed for those seeking a relaxed countryside experience rather than a highly managed holiday park environment. While this style of camping is enjoyed by many of our guests, we appreciate that it may not suit everyone's expectations.

Gostou That it is quite a small site with a lovely flatish field for campervans and open areas between the trees in the seperate space for tents. Very quiet and peaceful. 3 toilets, 1 shower and 2 washing up sinks.Toilets, shower and washing area although looking a little tired they are nice and clean. There is a small nursery with a coffee shop a very short walk up the road worth visiting.

Gostou Amazingly peaceful, beautiful woodland and pond. The lady was super friendly and spoke for ages about her cows. Also she let us know if she was popping off site in the evening. The first night was my first ever time solo camping, I felt at ease and safe! Second night I was with friends and there was plenty of nice spaces for us to relax.

Não gostou The shower was a little grim, personally I didn’t use it but did see others that were happy to.

Gostou Really enjoyed our stay. Friendly reception to a warm farewell. Facilities are basic but very adequate. We really enjoyed our stay. We’ll definitely be booking a return visit! Thanks guys!!

Gostou Woodland area was very spacious
Owners were very pleasant
pond is a nice feature
The site isn't divided into pitches so you can set up a fire where you want, or go and sit by the pond with your food/drinks

Não gostou The site allows large single sex groups so it can be loud (although they did seem to respect the quiet hours)
Toilets were dated, but clean, only one shower which is worth bearing in mind at busy times
The woodland floor is very rough so can be uncomfortable inside a tent

Gostou Meadow Tree Farm is lovely and I found it amazing for my needs. Nature, trees view of lake, peace and calmness. I like that was no cars next to tents, freedom to choose a place you want to stay and nice owner. Cows are another add to scenery. 20 miles away to beach. I would recommend and probably will come back. I like idea- no kids :)

Gostou The lady that owns Meadow farm was very nice and accommodating. She checked in on people to make sure that they were okay. The tent pitch sizes were a good size and you weren’t restricted The toilet Block was better than I was expecting and the shower was nice and hot.

Não gostou There’s nothing really I could say that I had an issue with. I think it all went really well. The only downside for me was my tent being too small which is nothing to do with the accommodation or facilities.
