Meadow Tree Farm: Lots of trees around the site

General

  • Rural dog-friendly adults-only site in Sherfield English
  • Half an hour's drive from Salisbury and 10 minutes from the New Forest
  • Cosy country pub within a 15-minute stroll

To Hampshire for a holiday in a rather relaxed kid-free spot? Meadow Tree Farm is a friendly adults-only site spread over 21 acres on the edge of the village of Sherfield English, about 10 minutes' drive from Romsey.

There's plenty of space for you (and any doggie companions you may have brought along) to chill out on site, with easily accessible woodland walks and, most importantly, a cosy country pub a gentle 15-minute stroll away. Fishing lakes are next door and there are fab trails for ramblers and cyclists a few miles away in the New Forest National Park.

Back at base the laidback vibe is preserved by keeping facilities to a minimum, but the essentials are all in place, including toilets, showers and a washing-up area.

Sounds good? You'd better be quick: Meadow Tree Farm is a pop-up site that's only open for a limited amount of time each year.

Please note

Bookings must not be for more than 3 consecutive nights.

Guests under the age of 21 are not allowed on site.

Meadow Tree Farm allows large groups, including stag and hen parties. While every effort is made to ensure the comfort of all guests, please be aware that some noise should sometimes be expected.

Please note that the toilet and shower facilities are contained within a single unisex block.

Friendly atmosphere, relaxed attitude to dogs, good location, can choose own pitch, fires allowed and benches provided.

    Disliked:

Facilities were minimal: 3 toilets and 1 shower, all unisex. These were checked regularly but some groups were cleaner than others and these were pretty dirty on the whole.

The campsite was a great location and we stayed in the woodland section. We really enjoyed that spot and were able to put our fire pit to good use! You can pitch anywhere and you have to leave your vehicle in the main field which is not a problem. We enjoyed the first evening there and the 2nd night we walked to the local pub - Hatchet Inn - good food and drink!
Overall a short but relaxing stay thank you.

    Disliked:

Whilst the owner is trying to promote more of a wild camping environment, which does work and the basic elements within the toilet/shower block reflect that. However, what is there could be finished off a little better. It appears unfinished - a small detail but something worth considering.

Great campsite, very informal and chilled out. Was pretty busy (sunny aug bank holiday!) but there was enough room for everyone!
Only 3 toilets and 1 shower, but we knew this before we booked and there never seemed to be a huge queue! (and they were cleaned regularly)
