  • Family-run and dog-friendly park in a calm countryside setting
  • Peppa Pig World and Romsey town centre within 15 minutes’ drive
  • Dog-walking area, café and open spaces for kids to play in
Treat yourself to a holiday at Hill Farm Caravan Park, a dog-friendly and family-run site a 15-minute drive from the popular Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park and less than 20 minutes from the numerous walking trails of the New Forest. A grand spot for keeping the kids entertained when they’re not fawning over their favourite cartoon character, this site has open spaces for kids to play in and a dog walk leading down to the site’s woods, where four-legged friends can frolic off-lead. If the sprogs (and dogs) in your life aren’t travelling with you, the park still makes a great base – it’s a top spot for touring the Test Valley (20 minutes’ drive) and Stonehenge (40 minutes) or visiting the cities of Southampton, Salisbury and Winchester (all within half an hour). Ferries set off from half an hour away if you’re off to France or the Isle of Wight. Staying local? The park’s handily placed for horse riding, walking or fly and coarse fishing breaks. Come evening, it’s a peaceful place as the no-noise policy after 11pm boosts the chances of a good night’s snooze. Head to the local pub, a 20-minute walk away, for supper and a pint just before bedding down; for breakfast and lunch, the on-site café serves up all-day breakfasts, light bites and homemade cakes. A shop on the grounds sells alcohol, groceries, newspapers and a small selection of caravan and camping essentials.

Electric grass pitch

Liked location and the overall site, good communications by management. Nice toilet and shower block

Disliked Only given map of the area to stay not the site or amenities on site, none of the pitches in the 'willow' area were marked, or numbered in fact the pitching area was not named either. the Willow area was pretty uneven in some places.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch (premium)

Liked Great location for where we wanted to be.
Friendly staff.

Showers were pretty good, nice pressure!
Nice open space for kids to play as it was quite quiet.

Disliked Not much we didn't like, as we only slept n showered here.

Taps on pitches could have done with having an apater to connect your hose quicklock too, had to buy one.

Toilets covered in cobwebs inside cubicles, even after cleaning schedule.
Nothing major.

Waste area closed on grass pitch, wish we knew this is advance, as would have parked up on the other side of site. Bit of a walk to carry grey waste and toilet caddy.

Liked Lovely site which is kept clean & tidy.
Unfortunately reception wasn’t maned and shop wasn’t open during our stay.
Washing up area & Elsan point near pitches was fenced off so a trek to the other points across the site. This site is missing a trick as loads of potential for it to be amazing. Very few campers during our stay. Maybe the owner could take on some pointers from sites like Back of Beyond at West Moors. Could make the site very popular and profitable.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch (premium)

Liked We wanted quiet and that was what we got so no complaints, pitch was big - the gentleman that showed us to our pitch was very helpful and let us choose which pitch we wanted

Disliked Unfortunately , the grass needed cutting but I believe there are a few issues behind the scenes - and the site is beginning to be a bit run down. This did not effect are stay though! And we do not think it is worth £40 per night

Electric grass pitch

Liked Not very busy

Disliked I visited this site some years ago and it was wonderful. Unfortunately all that has changed in 2025. Uneven ground, dilapidated and unused areas of the site. Shop poorly stocked. No idea we were coming booking with Pitch up. No one came round checking all was ok.

Local attractions

Once the kids have cuddled Peppa Pig at Paultons Park (20 minutes' drive), flock towards other animal-themed activities nearby such as Longdown Activity Farm (15 minutes) where families gather to watch the Friesian cows being milked, groom the ponies and feed the baby goats. Kids can’t get enough of creatures? Marwell Zoo houses more than 200 rare species, from tigers and snow leopards to rhinos and hippos, and the Hawk Conservancy Trust cares for birds in its combined 22 acres of woodland and wildflower meadows. Both are around half an hour away. If urban explores are on the agenda, Romsey (15 minutes) is the nearest market town for a wander round the shops, while the promise of a peek at one of Britain’s best cathedrals might be enough to lure you over to the city of Salisbury (25 minutes).
