Ashton Hall
Stunning views
Generously sized pitches with hardstanding and grassed areas
Peaceful and sheltered countryside setting

  • Peaceful and spacious wildlife haven in the smart Ashton Hall Estate
  • Lancaster city and the Forest of Bowland both within six miles
  • An 11-hole seaview golf course, woodland walks and fishing in the Lune
Rock up here for a restful retreat among the comely grounds of Ashton Hall Caravan Park… Within Ashton Hall’s extensive estate are an 11-hole golf course with spectacular seaward vista, as well as a garden centre and café, all bordered by ancient woodlands and the River Lune, and direct access to the Lancashire Coastal Way and the Lune Estuary Footpath. Your holiday days will surely fill up quickly with all there is to do around the locale too – if you manage to tear yourself away from the site, that is – as the Forest of Bowland, the Lune Estuary and Lancaster city are all within six miles. On site, there's loads of room to wander around the grounds or in the adjoining forest for woodland walking routes, nature trails and cycle paths, many of which will take you from the site directly to the banks of the River Lune. On top of all this, the site takes pride in its sparklingly clean unisex toilet and shower facilities in a modern stone-built bathroom block with underfloor heating. The building includes an accessible bathroom/ family facility, a vanity area with washbasins, big mirrors and a hairdryer, a laundry room with washing machines and tumble dryers, and a covered washing-up area – like the site itself, the amenities block is safely secure and accessed via a secure key code. A local pub and restaurant lies within a mile of the estate, and Lancaster is three miles away.

What customers say

This quiet, adults-only site offers peaceful countryside surroundings with plentiful wildlife. Guests praise the generous, level pitches and excellent, modern shower and toilet facilities. Direct access to walking and cycling routes, including paths to Glasson Dock and Lancaster, is a major highlight. Nearby amenities include a garden centre and a pub, both within easy walking distance. While some noted occasional issues with pitch conditions during wet weather or the need for improved signage, many guests highlight Roger's helpfulness and the overall tranquil atmosphere, with many planning return visits.

Lune fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked The only reason this site is getting a 2 star and not a 1 is because of the location. There was nothing else to like

Disliked The place may have been nice a while ago. But its been left to rot. Pitches are over grown and you cant tell hard standing from grass in some areas.

No chance of putting an awning up, unless you want to step out into a swamp. Water was miles way from the hard standing. Its not hard to put two taps in, instead of the cracked plastic splitter which sprayed water everywhere.

The pitches can NOT be used as full service pitches as the drains for grey water are up hill from where the caravan was.

A very basic site for strong money. Feel ripped off.

Lune fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Well what an experience that was, Tuesday to Thursday and the campsite to ourselves.
If you want manicured green spaces, this might not be for you.
If you love walking, cycling, wildlife, you might have found the right place.
Deer, Herons, woodpeckers sea views from the cycle path, which is a short walk through a field and 2 gates. There is so much to see, 4 miles to Lancaster and as flat as a pancake. Pitch was hard standing but grass was V damp and not usable (still March) not complaining. Only 2 moans 1 is the showers are push button and need to run for at least a minute if not 2, presently not long enough. Sign posts on main road could be better.
Unbelievable site for wildlife, the view from the van window was amazing. Shower block was warm and clean just the push button as mentioned was a pain. 9 holes of golf next door and 18 one door further down if wanted. Ashton garden centre is literally 2 minutes walk, you will pass it on the way in. Great pub only 15 minutes away along the cycle path.

Disliked Nothing!!
