What customers say
This park is highly praised for its beautiful woodland and riverside setting, with excellent access to Lowther Castle and local walks. Visitors highlight the friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities (including baths), and a convenient on-site bakery and pub. While generally quiet and well-maintained, some reviewers noted issues with dated shower blocks, WiFi connectivity, and occasional noise. A few also mentioned pitches being close together or uneven.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked Location, plenty of walks nearby. Have visited this site for many years now. The on site pub has been renovated, looks great, will be good when serving meals end of the month.
Disliked Cold showers and cold water for pot washing. Shop closed for some reason during our stay. And the crows! The touring part of the site is beneath trees inundated with crow's nests. Cars and caravans covered in bird muck from crows flying constantly above. The noise is horrendous, and you are woken at 4am every morning from them! I spoke to the reception desk last year to say about this issue but obviously nothing has been done.

Liked Pitch was fine, never had a problem with the actual site
Disliked No restaurant, no shop, not told either weren't operational and turned up with no food or a way of cooking any as we were going to use the restaurant.

Great site, great area and a relaxing stay.
Electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked Lovely, clean site with a great pub, games room etc. Great area, quiet and a good distance from local attractions.
You really feel set back and away from civilization on this site, its a long drive from the main road along avenues of trees and a river. Excellent for a relaxing break.
Disliked One whole toilet block was out of order when we stayed.
The toilet block that was open didn't have any hot water to the washing up basins, so this had to be done in the caravan. Toilet blocks themselves are fine, clean, smell nice and well maintained, just slightly dated.
Pitches could do with being slightly bigger, they're not small but I can imagine you would be struggling for room if you had an awning up.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked Great access to walks, friendly staff, easy to find, clean facilities, good pitch size
Disliked Two facilities blocks but neither seemed to have hot water and no information provided about this, motorhome pitches in the middle of the site, this felt more like a site for statics with some touring pitches in the middle, £4 per night for the dog is expensive

Enjoyable stay
Electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked Site is well kept, toilet block very clean, warm and modern, location is excellent with lots of nice walks and the onsite pub serves a lovely pint and very dog friendly.
Disliked The pitches arnt really hardstanding, our pitch got very muddy after a down pour.
The onsite pub is lovely but no food available and the closest place to eat is at least a 40 min walk although the reception staff did say they are planning on offering food in the near future.
