Non mi è piaciuto Showers and toilets are disgusting, tractors going around at 4am, bin wagons emptying bins at 5am.

Mi è piaciuto The place it self was beautiful walks and river amazing staff that we had contact with in bar reception and shop were very friendly the grounds were kept immacculate

Non mi è piaciuto Toitet and bathroom they were not cleaned properly at all mens were filthy throughout our 4 night stay womens were never cleaned and stocked properly
Camping pitches were we were put was very rocky hatd to put tent pegs in

Non mi è piaciuto Pitches very close to each other in-fact people pitched behind us had a washing line up at back of there awning could almost touch from our rear window not clear Witch electric hookup was yours Toilet block often dirty and some toilets blocked cleaners seen going in then moving on in under a minute and bins overflowing for first few days not a good look some of our party was camping and left early because of this spoke to reception but no joy also on site bar didn’t serve food for the first three days and was calling last orders at 8.30 pm

Non mi è piaciuto Too quiet. Poor washing up facilities and toilets/showers not great. Only a handful of campers and no real atmosphere.

Mi è piaciuto Good size tent pitches. Scenic woodland walks. Good play areas for younger children. Good toilet facilities - even includes baths! Very clean throughout. Good pub and well stocked shop - the bacon and eggs we bought there were double the cost of the supermarket in town but the freshness, quality and taste was 10x better so well worth it. Information was good upon arrival. Really good location for convenience of Penrith, coupled with quiet seclusion and close for daily travel into the Lake District - Only 20 minutes drive to Ullswater. Felt really secure in the park.

Non mi è piaciuto Toilet and washing up facilities were on the wrong side of the park for tents - not a huge distance away but enough to make it inconvenient, especially in the night. The hot water for washing up was non-existent on any day - we took to boiling our own water and taking it to the sinks.

Mi è piaciuto Loved it , just had 4 nights there ,enjoyed every minute of it , staff really helpful, the pub in site the drinks are cheaper than what I pay at home, loads of things to do near by

Non mi è piaciuto The pitch we were given was completely unsuitable for pitching a tent. The ground is covered with large rocks, with many visibly protruding from the surface, and there are clearly numerous rocks just beneath the ground
Almost every peg hit a rock and caused damage to our tent pegs, so bad they all had to go in the bin when we took our tent down
Sent an email to customer services and still haven’t received a reply
Evening entertainment in the pub was poor and kitchen was closed all weekend due to sickness
Not impressed at all and will not be staying here again

Mi è piaciuto It's very grand driving in and the bar staff was lovely.

Non mi è piaciuto We were put on a seasonal pitch that was completely overgrown with stinging nettles. We had booked and paid for a grass and gravel pitch because we use an awning and had guests staying with us for the weekend, but instead we were given a pitch made entirely of paving slabs.

When we went to reception, we were told it was “Pitch Up’s fault” and that the site was fully booked. However, after walking around, we saw plenty of empty pitches available, which made the explanation feel dismissive and unhelpful.

The pitch itself has potential if it was cleaned up and maintained properly, but in its current state it wasn’t suitable at all.

To add to this, the police were called to the site on the same night, which didn’t help the overall atmosphere or sense of safety.

The site also didn’t serve food on the second day, with no warning given, so we ended up having to order a takeaway.

Overall, the stay was disappointing. With better communication, proper maintenance, and more organisation, the site could be much nicer — but unfortunately that wasn’t our experience.

Mi è piaciuto Despite some bad reviews, I quite liked the site. Pitches were nicely placed in a wooded area, and although a huge complex it didn't seem crowded. The toilet blocks, although dated were clean and adequate. We only stopped for one night, but I would certainly return again if I needed to visit the area again.
