What customers say
This spacious, well-kept site offers lovely woodland and riverside walks. Visitors rave about the friendly staff, clean restrooms (even with tubs!), and onsite bakery. Potential downsides include motorway noise, inconsistent Wi-Fi, and some cramped touring spots, especially in peak season. Camper convenience might be affected by distant toilet blocks, and some facilities, though clean, are considered dated and due for an update.

Liked Lovely site in gorgeous surroundings, toilets and showers were fairly modern and compared to other sites I’ve been to were very clean. Nice reasonably priced bar serving food, and the Guinness was well received as was the steak pie. Great little shop selling all the usual essentials at reasonable prices. Super friendly staff. Didn’t bother with the WiFi so can’t comment on it.
Disliked Nothing

Peaceful, spacious and well-kept site – an excellent place to recharge
Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Really lovely site and a great change of pace after being closer to Keswick. The park is spacious, very well kept and has a really peaceful feel to it. Our electric grass pitch had plenty of room for the tent and everything else, and the facilities were clean and well looked after. Having the on-site laundrette was especially useful halfway through a longer camping trip! Great location for exploring the surrounding area and we’d happily stay here again.
Disliked Nothing major at all. We had a really enjoyable stay.

A decent friendly site in need of a bit of updating.

Liked Walking along the river on an evening was very peaceful. There’s also a walk out of the top of the site which goes up to Lowther castle which I’d recommend. Lots of statics on the site, everyone seemed very friendly.
Despite it being busy it was fairly quiet by 10.00 / 10.30pm.
The shop was excellent and all of the staff we met were friendly and helpful.
Even though the shower blocks are a bit dated they were usually very clean. There was plenty of hot water.
Disliked The touring pitches felt cramped, gaps between units weren’t well enforced. To be fair it was high season and the park was very busy. One neighbour with a camper pitched a pup tent (which to be fair the site doesn’t actually allow) so close we felt like they were in our van. The warden did try to catch them to ask them to take it down but then didn’t come back.
One of the shower blocks looks to have been recently updated, the other is in need of it. There were no mops in the block to clean up before or after a shower.

Lovely site with gorgeous walks and river side spots
Powered grass and gravel travel trailer campsite
Liked I love the fact there is a bath in the shower blocks at lowther!
Disliked The pitches are very close together. A lot of cars just randomly parked on the grass and empty pitches.
I paid for WiFi- don’t do it, it didn’t connect most of the time.

Overall we had a lovely stay and enjoyed our time.
Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked The surrounding river and walks, the games room for the kids, the park areas.
The toilet and shower facilities, while they arnt new and perfectly clean at all times they are nowhere near as bad as some reviews make out, they where definitely clean enough and fine to use throughout our whole trip.
Disliked The loud rowdy group of famies who played music till midnight shouting basically loudly partying on our first night, once they left it was lovely. We wouldnt of minded as much if it was expected but the strict no music and quiet policy we expected a quiet peaceful site. Very small tent pitches meant i felt like we where sharing a tent with four other families we could hear everything from their tents.

Liked Reception staff what an assest to the business the lady who greeted me was so lovely! Friendly and welcoming please feed this back to her.
Had a lovely chat with her.
The facilities were great, very clean and in close proximity.
Beautiful location and loads to visit and do locally.
We had a fantastic break and would 100% return in the future.
Disliked Only criticism was the family shower didn't stay on as long as the others and whilst I was showering my 3 little ones I ended up soaked.
Also the WiFi signal is low, however I would say that's a bonus as it gives you chance to shut off.
