Liked Shower facilities were clean and tidy and no queues even though site was full.

Nice pub on site with reasonable priced food and drinks

Disliked No WiFi at pub but they were in process of getting it sorted

Liked Location was fantastic for days out to Ullswater and Aira Force.
Kids loved the parks on the site.
Pub was decent prices for foot and drink, nice outdoor seating area too.
Easy check in (we did ask for pitches next to friends but this was communicated by pitch up so make sure to ring up beforehand!)

Disliked Only reason for marking down is because there are no toilets in the camping field. With small children and an older adult who needed to go in the night it was a fair walk! Toilets were not cleaned regularly enough either.

Liked The park itself was nice and the tent pitches were good

Disliked The toilet block is too far away! Doesn't make sense having a toilet block by static caravans which have bathrooms and nothing next to the tent pitches and glamping pods. Not a nice walk at 3am with children. This is also where the washing up facilities are and there is no hot water to them so have to get hot water from inside the toilet block.

Liked Lovely peaceful site. Lovely to walk along the river.

Disliked 3 showers in ladies toilet block were out of order and the full block could really do with refurbishing.

Liked It's a beautiful setting.
Lots of great walks and mtb routes

Disliked Everyone is pitched on top of each other. Very little space separating everyone. All I could see on one side of my campervan was a car, in touching distance. The site has a 5 mph speed limit, cars ignored this and would speed by. Even another lady commented as she walked by.

Liked Peaceful site. Play park kept the boys busy the whole time and plenty of other children to make friends with. Enjoyed the bar and games room. Well stocked shop. Beautiful surroundings and very close to lowther castle.

Disliked No hot water when washing up.

Liked We liked the area, the cow shed and the parks for the children. Very clean and friendly site, good food and drinks.
Shop on site which is handy! (Would be great if it could be open longer)
Really nice walking trail that leads you right back to your camping area, great for the kids to be able to walk down to the stream with there fishing nets.
Lots of waste facilities and plenty of fresh water taps around the site so not too far to walk.

Disliked One disappointment was that our request to have our tents pitched together wasn’t accommodated, despite requesting this in advance. It was frustrating to be separated, especially as we later found out that several other campers had experienced the same issue. It seems to be a recurring problem that could be improved with better organisation and communication. Had we known our request couldn’t be met, we could have planned accordingly. Thankfully the manager of the site stepped in and got it sorted in the end but had to move our tent on the second day which wasted a lot of our time on our trip. Manager (unsure of his name) was very friendly and understanding of our situation, great manager.

Camping pitches are quite small, maybe the camping side to the park feels like an after thought.

Also no warm water when washing pots.

Liked The on-site restaurant was lovely and the food/drink was decent and reasonably priced. The shop had a good selection of food available and the staff around the whole park were really friendly.

Disliked The advertised 'arcade room' has 6 games in total, one was out of order and 2 others didn't work when money was inserted. So there was no real entertainment for older kids. The toilets and shower facilities aren't close enough to the tent pitches. They are supposed to be code locked for security but the womens was broken.

Liked Amazing location for long walks and wildlife. Little shop on site was great for essentials and pub for bite to eat. Showers and water was hot (if you are patient i noted others comments) all regularly cleaned too. Lowther Castle was a hidden gem well worth the walk to it if nothing else a coffee and cake but the garden were vast and impeccable kept.
