Liked Lovely peaceful site, in a nice location.
Disliked The mud 🙈 I understand it has been extremely wet but even the hard standing areas seem to flood. It’s such a shame

Fox electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked The well spaced pitches, the cross country walk to Tattenhall and the peace and quiet.
There’s also a offshoot next door and a massive hardware store stocking anything and everything you’d ever need.
Disliked The toilet/shower block is small, but I understand there will be a larger, purpose built one coming.

Lovely managers, great location — big improvements needed but hopeful.
Badger electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch (large)
Liked We really enjoyed the location — it’s great for exploring, and Chester is only around a 20-minute drive with everything you could possibly need.
The small shop next door is handy too, selling a bit of everything for those little forgotten items.
The managers were genuinely lovely. They’ve only been there since November if i remember correctly, but were open, helpful and clearly passionate about improving the site. We were also told about the future plans, and if everything goes ahead, this could become an incredible place to stay.
Disliked When we booked, the site was advertised as having 16-amp electric, but on arrival we were told it had been reduced to 10-amp without prior notice, and we were asked to use gas for heating. This did leave us feeling a bit disappointed at the start of our stay.
The power tripped at least twice each night, which became disruptive. Hopefully this is something that will be addressed as part of the planned upgrades.
The shower and toilet block feels more like a temporary building, with limited facilities (one toilet in the gents, two urinals and three showers), and the toilet door doesn’t close properly.
The shower/toilet area is also very cold — there’s a radiator, but it hasn’t been on during our stay. In winter, it means you’re rushing instead of being able to relax.
The “hardstanding” pitches are more like flattened rubble, and the constantly locked gates and coded doors can feel inconvenient, especially with the stiff toilet block door.
Despite this, the site clearly has potential and we really hope the planned improvements come soon.

Liked Loved the area, shower/toilet block was a great addition, pitches were an excellent size so plenty of room for my little campervan. Would definitely return!

Liked Friendly staff. Good location for Chester.
Disliked Unfortunately when we stayed there had been a lot of rain the hard standing pitches were flooded and muddy. We were unable to put our awning up as we had to park on the end of the pitch on the loose gravel . The electricity kept tripping which meant us trying to walk through the mud to reset. I would have personally preferred the site to have cancelled so we could have found somewhere more suitable. Mobile phone signal poor in the area. The site managers said the site is due to have some investment. I would consider staying again but in dryer conditions.

Liked We booked this campsite for 2 nights, my husband had a works party in Chester itself so i stayed on the campsite alone, having the manager on site made me feel very safe and she was very friendly and accommodating, my only negative was that unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances the electric hookup wasn’t working the first day but i did receive a call that morning to tell me that this issue had just happened which was great, at least we knew in advance but we was okay as our van is set up for wild camping.
Will definatly be staying here again
Oh yes and the little cafe next to the site is an absolute little gem of a place. Lovely food and very reasonably priced
