  • Quiet family-run site five minutes’ drive from Tattenhall in Cheshire
  • Shropshire Union Canal five minutes’ drive and Chester 20 minutes
  • Wildlife pond and walks on site; pubs and shops five minutes’ drive
Set in 20 rural acres on the Cheshire Plain and five minutes’ drive from the pretty village of Tattenhall, Manor Farm Caravan Park is a small family-owned site with pitches sheltered by high hedges and trees. It’s a peaceful spot that’s something of a wildlife haven; you might wake up to the chirping of birds and the sight of playful wild rabbits scuttling around the fields. Keep your eyes open at dusk to see if you can spot ducks and geese settling for the night around the ponds, or hedgehogs foraging for food. Tattenhall has its fair share of half-timbered cottages and indie shops, plus pubs, restaurants and takeaways if you’re wanting someone else to do the legwork as far as food is concerned. When you’re looking for outdoor adventures, head for Delamere Forest for walks and bike rides, while Chester (both 20 minutes’ drive) makes a great cultural day out. Facilities have been kept to a minimum so as not to disturb the wildlife, but all the pitches have an electric hook-up. There are also spotless showers with loads of hot water to go round, and a covered washing-up sink.

What customers say

A friendly, well-kept site with spacious, level pitches & a relaxed vibe. Owners are helpful, dogs have an exercise field, shop/cafe on-site, great for walks. Facilities are clean but basic; some need updating. Minor issues: electrical supply & limited toilets at busy times.

Rabbit primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Just returned from two nights here, I stayed in Rabbit non electric field with my little dog. We had such a warm welcome from Joanne who showed me where I could pitch my campervan. She showed me the best shaded areas as the weather was really hot.
The campsite is really well looked after, toilets and showers are clean and well maintained.
The huge adjacent field was brilliant for walking the dog.
Waking up on the first morning there were lots of rabbits in the field just chilling on the grass it was lovely to see.
Campsite was peaceful, everyone seemed to respect the quiet time.
The cafe next door and the farm shop are so handy for things you might forget to bring, milk in my case!.
The farm store sells everything its huge inside and I was even able to buy spare blade fuses when my fridge one blew.
The Campsite is just so peaceful and I cant wait to go back again.

Disliked Nothing at all.

Rabbit primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked We arrived at the site just before 8pm for a 1 night stay on our way through to Wales. The site owner was super friendly and got us set up really quickly. We were micro/car camping and this was quite welcome on the site (there were others there too). The facilities were minimal but more than sufficient and was as described on their page. There is a cafe and garden shop next door which looked lovely, although we didn’t eat there as we were in a rush to leave the next day! All in all, I would definitely recommend the site and I will definitely visit again ☺️

Robin powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Secure site with plenty of space to pitch. Access to drinking water, cleaning area and facilities. Central field in the middle was great for the kids to play in sight if us. Would have loved a little play area but certainly not essential.

Badger powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite (large)

Liked The pitch sizes, friendly owner, dog exercise field, price and relaxed atmosphere. The toilet block wasn't posh but was adequate and clean

Disliked Not being able to get through the gate ourselves in our motorhome, though the owner was always very quick when we asked, even at 8am as requested.

Local attractions

When it comes to keeping younger kids happy, they should be well pleased by a visit to The Ice Cream Farm (five minutes’ drive), where they can run riot on the play areas, join craft workshops and choose their favourite ice-cream flavours. Chester Zoo (15 minutes) is always a popular choice for the chance to see elephants, giraffes and rare rhinos. The handsome city of Chester (20 minutes) itself makes a great day out, thanks to rambles around its Roman/medieval walls. You can also join guided walks around The Rows, a series of half-timbered Tudor-era buildings, and climb the tower at the medieval cathedral. Closer to home, Tattenhall (five minutes) is a historic village with lots of black-and-white architecture to admire. If you’re keen to get out and about in the Cheshire countryside, head to Delamere Forest (20 minutes) and its labyrinth of walking, horse-riding and cycling trails. You can also enjoy family adventures along the Shropshire Union Canal (five minutes), join the Sandstone Trail for woodland jaunts or play a round of golf (both 10 minutes).
