  • Family-friendly site and activity centre on the outskirts of Doncaster
  • Easy links to the national motorway network
  • Ten-minute walks to the local town of Hatfield

South Yorkshire activity seekers: sorted. Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre and Campsite on the outskirts of Doncaster has quite the heap of active options on site – and is in an area with plenty more in the surrounds, from golf to hiking to hurtling around indoors at the Doncaster Dome.

The active options on site are land and water based, and include courses, group sessions, team building, parties, canoeing and outdoor swimming. Or you could just use the site as a base to potter around Doncaster and South Yorkshire, or as an overnight stopover easy to access because of its nifty links to the national motorway network.

Hatfield is family friendly, with facilities including a toilet and shower block, a chemical disposal point, a washing-up area and a deep sink for clothes washing. A play area and vending machines are also on site.

It's a 10-minute walk to the old town of Hatfield, where supplies can be picked up at the local newsagent, post office, mini-market and off-licence and bakery; there are also restaurants and pubs for tiffin and teas.

Responsible dog owners are welcome at the site.

Excellent site with clean facilities, friendly staff and level pitches 12/09/2017

    Absolutely everything
    Friendly and helpful staff
    clean toilets
    clean campsite
secure site which allowed me to let my younger children "run free"
boating lake was excellent and again very friendly staff
climbing wall looked good, will definitely return and have a climb too

    Disliked:

A bit of noise from a neighbouring tent, singing at the top of their voice to rubbish music however another camper approached and after a bit of to and fro the issue seemed to be resolved, just kept my youngest awake and resulted in her crying a lot. Perhaps the off site security could be on site around 22:00 to 23:00 to deal with issues like that. In no way did this tarnish a perfect weekend.

    The activities available.
    Good fun for children.
    Friendly, helpful staff.
    Lovely, clean site.
Plenty of space for each pitch.
    Allows BBQ's and small fires.
    Welcomes dogs.
    Good value for money.
Located in a small town, nice quiet area.

    Disliked:

Had pre-booked to go on the family canoe on the lake but we found out on the morning of arrival that 2 of the family canoes were out of use, therefore only leaving one hour slot available for the Saturday, which we couldn't make. However, the staff were very apologetic and accommodating and we went on the double canoes instead, at a time more suitable to us. I feel it would be more beneficial if we could book a time slot for the activities when we book in advance through pitch.com

The lovely spacious pitches, friendly and welcoming atmosphere, This site is a local gem in Doncaster. The activities provided are excellent for children and adults alike. We have been coming to this site for a number of years and have noticed a significant improvement in the site and facilities. The staff are always available to sort any issues. It is also reassuring to know that site rules are in place and are enforced to ensure the safety of all campers and that the enjoyment Others is not disrupted by disrespectful people. Thanks for doing such a great job and making us feel welcome time after time.
