What customers say
This is a peaceful, spacious campsite with a "wild camping" feel, popular for its tranquil atmosphere and convenient location. Campers appreciate the ample room between pitches, beautiful dark skies, and the short walk to Embleton village and the beach. The pizza place opposite is frequently highlighted as a fantastic amenity. The site is described as basic, with portaloos and a single water tap being the main facilities. While generally found to be clean, the portaloos occasionally become full, especially during busy periods. Some guests mention road noise, and a few found the price high for the facilities offered. Despite this, many guests express a desire to return due to the relaxed check-in/out, quiet environment, and overall value.

Relaxing and peaceful
Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked Spacious, grassy pitches - just rock up and pick a spot. Relaxing and peaceful, with sea views across the fields. Lovely walk through the woods down to Embleton Bay and across to Dunstanburgh Castle on the coastal path, or nice walk up to Low Newton the other way. 3 portaloos, all spotless when we were there with plenty of toilet paper and hand sanitiser. Pitches back onto the road, but it's not busy and there are trees so we weren't bothered by traffic noise.
Disliked Embers (amazing pizzas) was closed - if it's a dealbreaker for you, check it's open before booking a pitch!

Brilliant
Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked Brilliant location opposite embers pizza emporium - top class wood fired pizzas cooked by George- possibly the best pizzas in the north east. 20 min walk to a beautiful beach through woods and fields. 3
Portaloos provided which were clean with plenty of paper, and a water tap at the edge of the field
Disliked Not much. Next to the road but not busy. Relatively expensive - there are similar sites around for less cash

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked We loved our visit to this mysteriously named campsite. The facilities are basic but clean, and the lack of showers is reflected in the very reasonable cost. It is very well situated close to the beach and the village with the added bonus of a pizza pop up across the road.

Liked Simple no frills site, the porta loos were very clean. Nice if you want a more off grid experience. A 10 minute walk down to the beach was lovely.
