What customers say

This is a highly recommended, well-maintained, and peaceful campsite with exceptionally friendly and helpful owners. Visitors praise the spotless and modern facilities, including showers and toilets, and spacious pitches. The on-site cafe serving coffee and ice cream is a popular addition. Its excellent location provides easy access to Dalby Forest, the North York Moors, and local attractions. While some noted minor issues like wind on certain pitches, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Big pitches
Quiet site
Electric pitches
Shower & toilets
The usual waste water etc
Recycle bins
Coffee shop
Dogs allowed with some fantastic walks with a few steps of campsite
Met on site & the owner was lovely & very informative

Disliked Unfortunately we were under some large trees and the weather was very blustery which meant the cones were dropping on the van all night and the branches were lashing the roof so got very little sleep. But these things happen when your camping 🤣 Not the owners fault so will definitely book again but will make sure am away from overhanging trees next time. 🙈

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely location with only a short drive to local sites such as Whitby and Pickering.
The site was used for a mixture of seasonal caravans, touring spots with ehu and camping. We found the site very well equipped including a lovely little cafe / shop. All the facilities were spot on.
This is one of the nicest small independent sites we've stayed on in the UK.
Although it has a gentle slope in places, we found no need for levellers.

Disliked No dislikes.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked Really nice site with well-spaced out pitches, we stayed on a larger touring pitch and we felt adequately spaced from other pitches, modern and clean facilities, well worth the money.

Disliked The only dislike with our pitch was the proximity to the road, and unfortunately, people are inclined to accelerate, which was noisy at times, albeit a relatively quiet road.

Local attractions

Reward the kids for not complaining (much) during your hikes through the moors by taking them to Flamingo Land Resort (20 minutes’ drive), with thrill rides and family-friendly attractions, plus a zoo with big cats, primates and farmyard animals. Or head to Dalby Forest (25 minutes), where a Go Ape park has treetop adventure courses for all ages. A spectacular country mansion in the equally spectacular setting of the Howardian Hills National Landscape, Castle Howard (35 minutes) might look familiar from TV dramas such as ‘Bridgerton’ and ‘Victoria’. Elegant interiors include the Chapel, with its opulent pre-Raphaelite decoration by the likes of William Morris. Stroll around the harbour at Whitby (40 minutes), grabbing fish and chips or embarking on a coastal cruise to see seals and (if you’re lucky) dolphins. Back on dry land, climb the 199 Steps leading to the atmospheric ruins of Whitby Abbey, which are said to have inspired Bram Stoker to write ‘Dracula’.
