- Newly installed showers and loos with good disabled access
Fishing in East Anglia sounds pretty perfect to Pitchup.com. Serious fisherfolk angling for a fishing holiday in Norfolk should give serious consideration to Narborough Fisheries, on its own private 16-acre site to the west of the county and with fishing lakes flowing with chalk stream water from the River Nar.
Narborough Fisheries has five lakes available to guests: trout lakes Willow and Meadow; specimen carp lake Millers (an 11-pounder was landed here in 2014); general coarse lake Foresters, and the newly created match and coarse Ashford Lake filled with over 9000 fish.
Fishing is available from £7 per person for a day ticket lasting 12 hours on the coarse fishing lake (£1 off from Mondays to Thursdays) and up to £30 per person for a day on the trout fishing lake, which includes five trout to take plus five to catch and release.
Fishing pitches at Narborough are set along two of the lakes with pretty perfect lakeside views. The shower and loo block was fully updated in 2014 and like the rest of the site is kept to high standards; the Narborough owners have also added a small tackle shop on site selling drinks, sweets and other essentials. Just remember to bring your Environment Agency rod licence.

Many sites set a maximum occupancy of 6/8 people per pitch, so try breaking your booking down into smaller groups to generate more results. For example, if you’re a group of 10, enter 5 people in your initial search and then book 2 pitches.
However, where the pitch or accommodation occupancy allows it, you can now make a booking for up to 30 adults and 30 children on one pitch.
To book multiple pitches or accommodation, use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together. Complete the booking form for the first booking (you can add a password and save your card so that we remember your details). Then click "Make another booking like this" at the top of the confirmation page to make the next booking.
Large groups: check the listing page for any group restrictions set out in the terms and section titled ‘Please note’.
Large tents/caravans: check the restrictions on unit dimensions to ensure your unit is suitable for the space you will be provided with.

Fishing, fishing, nature reserves, the north Norfolk coastline and watery sports: what a lot of activities there are to catch in this part of East Anglia.
King's Lynn is about nine miles away and has several fisheries owned or managed by the King's Lynn Angling Association to cast off for carp, zander, bream, roach, perch and pike along the Great Ouse and other watery locations; access some via Magdalen Bridge, Ten Mile Bank, Downham Market and Denver Sluice among many others.
Away from the rod, take the budget-friendly local bus from Narborough village east to comely Norwich for a day among its Lanes and historic market for shopping, and a look at as many as possible of the Norwich 12, the city's historic buildings, as can possibly be fitted in on a day trip.
(If you only have time for a couple, the obvious two are Norman Norwich Castle, which includes the Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery, and Norwich Cathedral with its rather splendid large cloisters.)
Going west, pick the cathedral city of Peterborough for another day trip: alongside its twelfth century cathedral we'd also recommend a potter among the quarter of a million or so exhibits of the Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery, watersports on the lakes at Nene Park, a puff on the Nene Valley Railway between Peterborough Nene Valley and Yarwell Junction, and a night out at the Key Theatre, where shows of all sorts run all year.
Also get hooked on the wildlife and sumptuous scenery in the area, with a trip to the nearest nature reserve, the Norfolk Wildlife Trust's chalk grassland of Narborough Railway Line, or a wildlife-spotting float around the Norfolk Broads, easily accessible from Norwich.
