What customers say
This rustic, riverside campsite offers a laid-back, back-to-basics experience with freedom to choose your pitch. Guests highlight the beautiful River Avon for swimming and paddling, with rope swings and plenty of open space for children and dogs. Facilities, including toilets and showers, are generally found to be clean and functional, with ongoing upgrades noted. While some mention occasional queues for facilities during busy periods and the need to take rubbish home, the peaceful atmosphere and natural setting are consistently praised. The "no music" policy is appreciated by many.

Liked Great camping field, loved being close to the river. We paddle boarded straight from the site and had a fire. We were free to pitch where we wanted. Great site will visit again

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Nice spot close to the river.
Disliked We didn’t realise the kids had already broken up for the holidays so it didn’t feel like wild camping at all.
Also the closest footpaths are overgrown and unwalkable.

From the manager: Thank you for the 6/10... your ability to read a calender and know if the school holidays has started or not really has no bearing on our business, I would recommend staying during the week if you want it really quiet, but with this heatwave, all campsites , beaches... are busy I'm afraid , that's life

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked It was what it said in the description, ideal for my needs for a one night stay
Disliked Although it does say the riverside should not be obstructed, I felt like I would be intruding if I did want to walk by the river, so I walked down a track instead

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Next to a lovely river, great for children to swim and play.
Disliked Toilets were very dirty, poo on the toilet and on the bins. There was plenty of loo roll but toilets ware not cleaned more than once during the whole weekend and bear in mind there was over 100 people on Saturday. We have been to many eco campsites but all were clean.
On Fri night the people next to the toilets (presumably owners) played music until 23 but noone else was allowed music on site. There was also music on Sat night but that was from the field nearby.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. I can assure you that the toilets are cleaned 3 times a day at a minimum, unfortunately when the kids have been swimming in the river they do get muddy hands on the white sink basin and we sometimes have to clean them every hour.
We do not allow music any time, the customers staying in the airBNB did play music and this was dealt with, this is not near the camping area so I think you're being a little over zealous
Nice location but wouldn't come again for reasons listed
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Access to river, kids loved climbing on trees and jumping into the water
Disliked The toilet/shower facilities (4 cubicles in total with toilet and shower combined) were very basic and not cleaned regularly enough given there were a lot of visitors over the weekend. I understand that this is a "back to basic" campsite with shared facilities but you would still expect some level of cleaningness as families are staying here. The fridge which was available to store good if needed was dirty and needed a deep clean. We had to take a our rubbish - which was less ideal - but this was communicated beforehand. We received a text on the day of arrival telling us that there is "No music allowed" but the same rule didn't apply to the owner.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback, we actually have new toilets opening this weekend, sorry that you did not get to experience them. The existing toilets are cleaned 3 times a day, when it's busy and there's lots of kids using them they do take a bashing... hence the 3 cleans a day, thanks again
