What customers say
This is a popular campsite praised for its amazing riverside location, spacious pitches, and relaxed atmosphere. Families particularly enjoy the river access, with rope swings a highlight. Facilities are generally clean, though some guests mention they are basic. While many appreciate the 'wild camping' feel, a few noted noise from other campers, especially during busy periods. New toilet and shower facilities are being installed.

Overall a great little spot for a night or two.
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Liked the location, it was out of the way and you couldn't hear noise from roads etc. Toilets were pretty good, though the showers are open inside each cubicle so expect everything to be wet!
Location by the river was lovely, lots to explore.
Disliked The only downside for me was how long the grass was. In some areas it was trimmed down but because it was a busy weekend not many spots were left available, and those that were had long grass. Spent the weekend with itchy legs!
Pitchup also said it had a playpark which is one of the reasons I chose it with a young child, but sadly there wasn't one.

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Loved this place. Last minute booking on a Friday for the following Saturday night.
Turn up and park where you like.
Very easy going feel to the place. Tucked away and very peaceful.
Hot weekend so having the river with parts shallow enough and in the trees for the kids to paddle in was a real treat.
Disliked Areas next to the river down the very far end away from the toilets smelt like wee.
Some big groups park around entry points to the river making it a bit difficult or awkward, feels like you’re walking through their pitch but just go for it and if they don’t like it it’s tough luck because the instructions do say not to block peoples access to the river.
Only 4 toilets and one washing up sink so when it’s very busy there is a small Que. they did seem to be kept clean and stocked with

Great for the price
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Good open space that you can choose your own pitch on, basic yet functional facilities
Disliked Unclear where you can pitch meaning a lot of people squeezed in hedge row areas and so full site was not used effectively.

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked River. Immersed in nature. Fire pit use.
Disliked No bins for rubbish. Despite stating it was a no music site, speakers were on throughout the day and night by other campers. Large groups congregated under gazebos at night. It wasn't peaceful to camp as we had young children. Although stated river access was not to be blocked, it was tricky to access parts of the river due to other campers.

Fantastic, hidden gem in a nice location.
Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Fantastic site, basic but facilities very clean throughout the stay.
Access to shallow river all along one side with rope swings dotted along the way. Great for families. Full of friendly people while we were there. Fire pits and wood available from site if wanted.
Tried the paddleboard but could only get as far as the golf course, fast flowing but incredibly difficult due to being heavily reeded and blocked by fallen/low lying trees so quite dangerous in parts.
Pockets where there are swings are clear so safe for older/capable children.
