  • A 10-minute drive from Alton Towers and Uttoxeter Racecourse
  • Large family-friendly bar and restaurant with events and takeaways
  • Spacious beer garden with play area and large climbing frame
Up for theme park thrills? New Broom Camping and Caravan Site is 10 minutes' drive away from Alton Towers – and has a comfy number of amenities to have you sorted on site too. Set in two peaceful acres with flat grass pitches, the park has a traditional pub (which is both large and family-friendly) with a family restaurant. There's also a big beer garden with a play area. And it's all in the small Staffordshire village of Checkley, a short drive away from Uttoxeter Racecourse and The Potteries as well as Alton Towers. The pub serves decently priced drinks and meals including carvery, cooked breakfasts and pizza (pizza is available for takeaway too). It's got a pool table for evenings of friendly competition, and hosts regular events such as rock nights, tribute nights and darts nights. New Broom also has a toilet/shower facility that guests can use free of charge, 24 hours a day.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The site is very relaxed and the owner and his son are really helpful and friendly the toilets are very nice and warm and kept clean we ate in the pub both breakfast and dinner and the food was very nice and well presented you feel welcome and that always helps

Disliked small site very tight to get a caravan our size in six berth twin wheel but that is more my fault than there's still once pitched no problem. walking the dog is a bit tricky pavement outside very small and i could not find anywhere to take her ended up walking in the small cemetery up the road not really a big problem and certainly nothing to do with the campsite

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Lovely little site, gorgeous pub and little play park. Toilets and showers were cleaned regularly. Owners/people who worked at the pub were really nice. Very friendly and would help with no hesitation. We visited alton towers and Drayton manor while staying here with them only been 15/20 mins and 1 hour away. Will definitely be returning!

Disliked Noise from the road. It is on a main road so noise from the traffic was loud. Pub did offer ear plugs so from night 2 our sleep was better.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Stayed here recently as a stop over on way home to Scotland from Cornwall. Booked last minute on pitch up. Camper with 2 adults 3 kids and a dog no issues.

The food in this place was amazing, great choice and fresh.

The kids enjoyed the little play area and kept them occupied for ages.

The breakfast was exceptional too.

Would highly recommend, owner was very friendly and welcoming.
